Vegan not for my health, but for their lives. That it’s good for my health is a nice bonus.

I am 22 years old, and I recently became a vegetarian 5 months ago after watching the documentary “Vegucated” on Netflix. Seriously is a must watch to anyone thinking of becoming vegetarian. I am trying to eventually make the switch to a vegan lifestyle as soon as I can drop the cheese habit! I don’t drink dairy milk, yogurt, and can easily cut eggs since I almost never eat them! My advice to people on here worried about protein… Don’t worry! Most people are unaware how much extra unnecessary protein they eat a day with diets that involve meat. I use protein powders that are vegan-in smoothies! There awesome! Plus there’s tofu, your “meatless” options (veggie burgers, chick’n), beans, leafy greens, broccoli, cheese, eggs, whole wheat breads and pastas…the list goes on and on! Honestly, just remember you also need iron, b12, vitamin D, calcium, etc…look into that… I take multi vitamins daily as well as pro-biotics and vitamin c.. But seriously I love not eating meat no regrets, I don’t miss it one bit! I’ve tried so many new meals and trust me… I’m a picky eater! Go veg!

There is a lot of misinformation out there on vegan lifestles. I am trying to convert to a veganlifestyle and I know any health issues o have will disappear.

I saw Meet Your Meat when I was in the ninth grade, but I stopped eating meat, when I figured out chicken nuggets came from actual chickens. If children are told that what you’re feeding them used to be a living, breathing, creature they would be vegetarians. The older meat-eaters get the stupider they get.

I loved this list. It doesn’t mean there are only eleven vegetarians in this world. We can add more names if we want. No, it’s not sexist at all. How about Linda McCartney?

  • Victoria Smith says:

I am still considering becoming a vegeterian. The only thing holding me up is that I am still researching how to meet my protein requirements and such safely as I have numerable food allergies. I highly respect vegeterians and vegans and hope to soon count myself among their number. Wonderful quotes. Very inspiring. I particularly like the quote from Gandhi.

I became vegan after watching “If slaughterhouses had glass walls”; I had become a vegetarian after studying animal welfare and seeing a video on the traumatic psychological effect factory farming has on animals

  • Hedy Hunyady says:

I’m vegetarian since more than 40 years. I had a lots of energy in my lifetime and I was almost vegetarian in my childhood too when I saw a chicken (my friend!) was killed by the a servant. My mother never was able to kill any animals. Once my father brought home one shut down bunny and my mother was sick for weeks. I really believe part of the human race are not carnivore.

Has anyone seen the restaurant chain commercial that mentions having a vegetarian item on the menu without actually saying the word “vegetarian” as something for “your teenager who’s going through a phase?” Hmm. Interesting that I can’t remember the restaurant but I sure remembered that back door way of offering a lower-on-the-food chain menu choice. but, at least they’re doing it I guess. BTW, my heartfelt thanks to all at PETA and particularly to the undercover reporters. I personally could never endure what they have to witness and document in order to change or create laws to help farm and lab animals. Many thanks!!!!
