roaninn and anyone else who has an issue with this….shut up about the gay rights . Stop turning everything into an issue about YOU. This is about the animals . Nobody cares if you’re gay and want to have a vegan celebration or if your straight and want to have a vegan wedding. Save the animals, quit worrying about your feelings being hurt and think of the hurt the animals go through. Complain somewhere else because you wont get any compassion here, especially from me!

VEGCON means VEGetarian CONscious makes much more sense than the word vegan. VEGCON is the conscious choice of not murdering animals for food, clothing, etc. they are essentially 100% vegetarian as well as protectors and supporters of animals and the environment in which Humans and Animals co-habitat. VEGCONISM AND VEGCON are the preferred CHOICE words than vegan which is using the first 3 and last 2 letters of the word “vegetarian” So What! there is no significance in this where as VEGCON and VEGCONISM makes significant sense

Roaninn, I’m not seeing the bit where this article says all weddings have a bride and a groom. I see that each term, “bride” and “groom,” gets an article about attire — is that what you’re objecting to?

This is about the animals, stop making it a gay rights issue.

I am getting married in 6 weeks and am having a vegan afternoon tea with an Italian twist (my husband to be is of Italian descent). I got lucky with all the food though as my parents are chefs and my sister is a professional cake maker. The cakes are a surprise so all I know is that one is 7 tier and the other 5 chocolate tiers, and then a 5 tier cupcake stand.Hooray I can’t wait!

Roaninn- You do realize they are giving options for both men and women, not for them together as a couple. They listed the info separately for men and women so they are not saying it is JUST for a man and woman, it could be for 2 men or 2 women as well. Furthermore, the first sentence says “yourself” and “partner” meaning they are not discriminating against sexual orientation and gender. They could have easily put yourself and your husband but they didn’t. You are too uptight about wording and you are the type of person that makes others discriminate because you are so crazy about nothing. I have gay friends and in laws so I get it but no need to be so sensitive over nothing.

I agree this isn’t fair to the LGBTQ vegan community.

@ Roaninn: peta never mentions only a bride and a groom, they use the word “partner”. Lesbian and gay couples can use this list, just a part of the list is unneeded for them.

Whooops! PETA is compassionatley and politically incorrect to portray weddings as having a bride and groom! Sometimes 2 brides; sometimes 2 grooms, right? Can’t fwd this till it’s inclusive.
