    Thanks Ashley! Yes I think the problem was w/ the yeast too; the water was not the proper temp. Actually, we did eat my rock buns – they passed the taste test if not the texture. Anyway, I’m getting a thermometer & giving these another shot, and this time they’ll rock!!!

    Hi Karen! It sounds like something went wrong with the yeast. It should be very foamy and the dough should expand quite noticeably when left to rise. I think there’s a tip in the recipe that says to preheat your oven to like 100 then turn it off and let the dough rise in there. Having a warm environment like that will really help. Good luck!

    I made these rolls yesterday and they came out rock hard and caramelised! I’d like to try them again but need some help to know where I went wrong.

    Even at the stage where the melted butter mixture is added to 4 cups of flour, my dough was not as liquidy as in the video, and when I added the additional 2 cups it came together much quicker than the 8 minutes kneading required. Could I have over-kneaded it and made it tougher that way? When left to rise, the dough would not rise; but it did leave a dent when I pressed it. Also, the yeast was only slightly foamy. If the water was not warm enough, could that affect the rising of the dough and make for a tough result? I was so disappointed it didn’t work! Any advice is super appreciated, as I’m afraid to try again and waste so much ingredients. The cinnamon rocks I have right now are really uneatable!
