This seems confused for PETA, I make a few clicks and find this: http://www.polyvore.com/twill_military_parka/thing?id=26048918 DEFINITELY REAL FUR~! When I'm on a PETA site I don't expect to link to anything remotely connected with fur, or leather, or wool~! Further, I am boycotting NORDSTROM because they consistently sell fur. What's with you PETA, I expect better than this.

I like some of PETA's clothing and probably would buy it even if I wasn't vegetarian, but sadly, a lot of it is out of my price range.

I'm vegan and this is how I deal with leather--I have some pre-vegan leather shoes and I wear them, but I will not buy anymore. When those get worn out that will be the end of leather shoes. I have leather jackets from before I was vegan as well but jackets are much more noticeable and influential than shoes so I don't wear those. They just sit in my closet. One day in the near future, when I get over how much I paid for those things, I will donate them to the Goodwill or take them to a consignment shop. So my advice is if you already bought it, might as well not waste it, unless, like me with the jackets, you feel bad about it. If you do feel like you can't wear them anyway, then donate.

In regards to Judy's question, I don't think that article addressed what to do with leather shoes you already own. It basically said to lie to everyone and tell them they're faux. I don't feel uncomfortable lying to people to make them think I'm vegan. I'd rather be a true vegan. My advice would be to keep them out of sight and only wear them when you know others will not be looking at your feet - like when you're shoveling the driveway. Then make those the last pair of leather boots you ever buy. That way you still set a good example, but you are not wasting a finished product.

Cuute idea. So easy now with plether stuff. Question: what to do with leather around the house? is wasting it (throwing it out) dishonoring the animal too? Also, regarding pho fur. Is that ok - or is wierd like wanting to look like you're waring someone else's skin?

Autumn seriously lighten up..an organisation who commits themselves to fighting cruelty and abuse of animals all over the world, and striving to improve their quality of life, and you choose to focus on a little feather in a picture which is pobably only a computerised image anyway. Tell me what have you done to make a real difference in the lives of animals. You're just bitter
