Polyvore is a social networking site. Just as PETA would not delete our Facebook fanpage because Donna Karan has one, we will always use every channel available to us to spread awarness. We are utilizing Polyvore to show that you can create a fashionable outfit with out the use of animals. This is fun, just as fashion should be!

Kristen - first of all, give Autumn a break. I did find REAL feathers in some of the designs at Polyvore. Also, I don't agree with keeping cruelty based shoes (or whatever), just because you paid too much for them. You certainly don't sound like a real vegetarian.

What in the world are you thinking PETA? Some of the "fashions" include those designed by Donna Karan - remember the PETA campaign to get her to quit using animal fur in her designs? Also, what about the feathers in some of the items? What the heck is going on?

When I'm on a PETA site I don't expect to link to anything remotely connected with fur, or leather, or wool~! Further, I am boycotting NORDSTROM because they consistently sell fur. What's with you PETA, I expect better than this? And just in case this irritates you Diana, this is animal rights and I've been doing it for over forty years - a feather is a feather and Autumn has every right to ask~! Tell us what YOU have been doing for animals (without incriminating yourself of course)?

I like some of PETA's clothing and probably would buy it even if I wasn't vegetarian, but sadly, a lot of it is out of my price range.

I'm vegan and this is how I deal with leather--I have some pre-vegan leather shoes and I wear them, but I will not buy anymore. When those get worn out that will be the end of leather shoes. I have leather jackets from before I was vegan as well but jackets are much more noticeable and influential than shoes so I don't wear those. They just sit in my closet. One day in the near future, when I get over how much I paid for those things, I will donate them to the Goodwill or take them to a consignment shop. So my advice is if you already bought it, might as well not waste it, unless, like me with the jackets, you feel bad about it. If you do feel like you can't wear them anyway, then donate.
