I find it almost equally as important to BUY AMERICAN. Items from MADE IN CHINA seem not to work, fall apart or are just cheaply made. I am certainly for animal free clothing but not made in China. I saw such animal cruelty while I was there.

There are no simple solutions to this problem. The better made "animal-free" coats that are not made in sweatshops are twice as expensive. You could learn to sew and make your coat out of organic, fair trade fabrics or shop at the thrift stores and recycle fabrics or buy the coats there. Let's try to stop complaining and come up with some viable solutions.

It's very difficult for me to find non-wool or non-down coats that are warm for the cold winters yet don't look like I'm going down the ski slopes. Any suggestion for work day winter vegan coats?

It's great that Forever 21 uses animal-free material, but they are known for mistreating their employees. It's important to support animal rights, but also human rights!

I have to agree with Stephanie. We need to be conscientious. Animal and human rights should be respected. We can buy vegan but find this balance!

I like the fact that these materials are animal-free. However, Forever 21's ethos--cheap, throwaway fashions--does little to promote true veganism. Whether it's the fact that these clothes rip and wind up in landfills or the fact that Forever 21's profit motive force immigrants to work in sweatshop conditions, I would question whether the simple fact that an animal product was not used in it manufacture of these goods makes them vegan.
