Hi! I work on the Humane Seal campaign, and I want to clear up any misconceptions about the approved charities. The Humane Charity Seal of Approval is awarded only to charities that do not perform or fund animal research. If you notice a charity on the Humane Seal list that does not meet this standard, please bring that to my attention at lbriese@pcrm.org so that I may correct the issue. Actually, there are sites on the HumaneSeal website for charities that encourage the eating of animals and who may not test on animals themselves, but help fund OTHER companies that do. I contacted them to ask why these companies were listed as considered humane, and was basically told that they can't police ALL the charities, and as long as the charity does not TEST on animals THEMSELVES, they are eligible. So don't believe everything you read.
