Breast cancer survivor Polly Strand wants pharmaceutical company Wyeth to come clean about the dirty ingredient in its hormone drugs Premarin and Prempro. Polly has asked her lawmakers in California to introduce “truth in labeling” legislation that would require Wyeth to add “horse urine” to its product labels for these drugs.

PETA protesters squashed a giant "urine" -filled pill outside Wyeths world headqaurters in Pennsylvania in a messy attempt to expose Premari's nasty secret ingredient.

mares to tiny stalls for six months at a time. Most of the mares don’t see the light of day for months and can never even take two steps. The mares wear urine-collection bags that chafe their legs and prevent them from ever lying down comfortably. Most of the foals born on these farms are taken from their mothers soon after birth, fattened, then slaughtered for meat.
Millions of unsuspecting women, including Polly’s own mother, who took hormone-replacement drugs for many years, have no idea that they are swallowing horse urine every time they pop a pill. Women need—and want—to know: In a recent poll conducted by Zogby International, 75% of all respondents agreed that Premarin should be labeled to reveal that it contains animal waste.
Hormone Health Risks
Researchers abruptly canceled a massive Prempro study involving more than 16,000 women across the United States after finding that the estrogen/progestin drug significantly raises the risk of heart attacks, breast cancer and strokes. Many women can control their menopausal symptoms by making lifestyle changes like eating a low-fat vegetarian diet and getting regular exercise. Best of all, taking these simple steps will also help ward off the serious diseases—heart disease and osteoporosis—that doctors once thought hormone-replacement therapy would prevent.
