PETA's Litterbox Awards......FOR ADS THAT REALLY STINK

There’s good news to report this time: Advertisers seem to be getting the message that encouraging kindness is good for animals and the bottom line. Many companies averted Litterbox “distinction” by immediately expressing regret and pulling anti-animal ads after PETA members complained. Thanks for prompt action go to Eddie Bauer, Kingsford Charcoal, Ralph's Grocery, and Avia and to all of you who contacted those companies.

And the losers are:

First Place
Save the Children takes the prize for torturing a goldfish to...suggest you shouldn’t torture children! Tell them there’s no excuse for any abuse.
Second Place
Loop-Loc made a big mistake when it featured baby elephant Bubbles. The company sent us its promo video, showing a terrified Bubbles being forced to “walk the plank” by a trainer wielding a bullhook. Tell Loop-Loc it’s time to sink this ad.

is online shopping mall ebates.com for encouraging people to go to the rodeo and then eat its victims!
Dishonorable Mention
We're not sure what the people at Marriott were thinking: Life in a fishbowl is nothing to write home about.

Please tell the recipients of this year’s pans that they can win contented customers with ads that show compassion.
