Ringling knows that no one would patronize the circus if they knew about the cruel abuse that happens behind the scenes, including regular beatings of elephant with bullhooks—long metal rods with sharp steel hooks and points at the ends that resemble fireplace pokers—and shocking elephants with electric prods. To protect its image, Ringling tries to cover up this reality through a parade of false and misleading statements about the conditions that the animals it uses endure.
PETA is out to stop this deception, but we need your help!

Idk how anyone cud look into an animals face n hurt them.. I cud never!! I've been rescuing kitties old n young off the street n finding them loving homes for over 3 years now n each one gets attention, love n plenty of food, water, exercise n toys. If they need to goto the vet then they go. I try n have them fixed to. I love animals xoxo <3
OK, this is TOO FAR!! Yeah, beating animals is wrong, but monetary compensation? Are you kidding?! I hate animals getting beaten, but I would never condone taking legal action, especially seeing as you have not been wronged by this person (the animal is getting beaten, NOT YOU!) We are a viscous species, if we aren't harming the environment, we are just screwing each other over! To all people who event THINK of claiming monetary compensation, how are you ANY better than a man who beats his dog(just an example)?

Hello. Please READ THIS COMMENT because it's really important. Scientists say that the difference between humans and animals is that we have a conscience. We can tell right from wrong. Well, from what I see in this picture and all the other pictures in the PETA website, we have no conscience. We can tell right from wrong, but we ignore that little angel in our shoulder telling us what's right. Instead, we listen to the little devil in our other shoulder telling us "Why not? If you'll win money, do it! Who cares about animals?" and that really makes me sick. But, HELLO? Other things are happening involving animals. In the Canadian Olympics, seals are beaten to death with clubs. In labs, rats, mice, cats, dogs, monkeys, and more animals are being used for tests that burn their skin, make them sick, and sometimes (most of the times) kills them. But, pay attention to what's happening in your own neighborhood. Take a drive and check if all the pets are being treated well and not left outside in the cold (or the hot), in the rain (or in the sun), or just check if there are any abandoned dogs in the streets. I have never been to a circus where there's animals and I never will go. I am Karla. I live in The Caribbean. I am a vegetarian. And I finish this comment saying: STOP THE MADNESS.
