Each year, the Canadian government allows sealers to beat and skin hundreds of thousands of seals. Baby seals, some merely weeks old, have their skulls smashed in or are shot for their fur. Many of these gentle animals may not even have eaten their first solid meals or taken their first swim before they are slaughtered.
PETA and compassionate people worldwide—including countless Canadian citizens and a long list of celebrities, such as Sarah McLachlan, and professional athletes—are calling for a permanent end to this cruel and needless massacre.
The European Union's ban on seal products and the U.S. Senate's resolution to end the seal slaughter are major steps in the right direction, but there is still much more to do in order to stop the slaughter forever. See all the famous faces who are speaking up for seals in our "Save the Seals" ad series, and then join our campaign to end the slaughter forever.
Dear Sirs, My name is Ran Levy Yamamori, working in the field of environmental education (writer, illustrator and publisher). I had just started a special campaign to stop marine mammals killings through a youtube clip: "The Memaid and the Dolphins" aiming not only at general audience, but especially children. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OjLyIFAeWI and I hope you might like it and that you share it with anybody who loves sea mammals and with anybody who might find it useful. Hope to hear from you, Ran Website: www.naturesaving.com
