Horror Film Queen Karen Black Was Shot in a Cemetery for a New PETA Ad: âI Wouldnât Be Caught Dead in Furâ
Legendary horror queen Karen Black, whose decades-spanning career includes both Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Family Plotand Rob Zombie’s recent House of 1,000 Corpses, can now add “PETA pin-up” to her résumé. In a new PETA ad released just in time for Halloween, Karen reclines against a tombstone bearing the inscription “I Wouldn’t Be Caught Dead in Fur.”
Black, a longtime animal rights supporter, has shared her house with several cats since she first moved to Hollywood to costar with Jack Nicholson in Five Easy Pieces, a role that landed her an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award. She also won a Golden Globe for The Great Gatsby and earned a Grammy nomination for her songs in Robert Altman’s Nashville.
