All too often, "man's best friend" is left to spend their entire lives in solitary confinement, trapped at the end of a chain. Chained dogs are often deprived of adequate care and shelter and are left to suffer through extreme heat or freezing winter nights when all they want are scratches behind the ears, walks around the block, and the opportunity to curl up at their guardians' feet at night—indoors.

The best way to help chained dogs is to work with city or county legislators to ban chaining, and PETA has the resources to help you get started. Speak out for all chained dogs or help an individual dog in need, and don't forget to share this with everyone you know.
There's a difference between chaining them up when it's necessary and still not abusing them and chaining them up and abusing them. A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!
Leave Bristol alone.... How about we all look at the problem of child abuse before animal abuse people??? Chaining a dog isn't a crime if the owners are nice and treat the dog well. Dogs can cause a ton of lawsuits.
