UPDATE: PETA Shipping Fur Coats to Afghanistan!

Donations of unwanted furs will help Afghan children, and animals

Hundreds of fur coats, fur bedspreads, and other fur garments—donated by people who’ve had a change of heart about fur—are being packed up at PETA’s world headquarters this week to be distributed to desperately needy Afghans housed in refugee camps near the border town of Jalalabad.

Furs In PETA WarehouseThe shipment of furs, to be used for bedding and jackets, will protect the men, women, and children in war-ravaged Afghanistan from the cold through the long, freezing winter. This special donation follows on the heels of Sally Struthers’ plea to former fur-wearers to give their unwanted coats to PETA to help the desperately poor victims of war stay warm while making a statement against the senseless and painful slaughter of equally innocent animals. No one in the West has any business wearing fur, but since we can’t give the animals their lives back, we can offer warmth to those who have no choice—and who might otherwise freeze in the cold this winter.

To donate your unwanted fur garment to PETA for future giveaways to needy people who can’t afford to protect themselves from the elements, simply mail them to:
