One of the worst abusers of animals in the world is the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA’s important goals include protecting our environment from toxic waste and hazards. But in order to determine potential threats to human health and the environment from chemicals, pesticides, and other toxic substances, the EPA still relies on circa 1920 to 1930 toxicity tests like the lethal-dose poisoning and Draize tests, in which toxins are poured onto the skin or into the eyes of defenseless rabbits.

The EPA has killed millions of animals in these scientifically flawed and outdated tests, but it has not banned a single industrial chemical in the past decade!

We are now in court fighting the EPA. We are determined to revamp its animal testing protocols and get it to use non-animal methods already in existence and to develop even more non-animal tests. We’ve already been successful in getting some of the worst animal tests canceled, but we must continue our legal battle against the EPA—which now wants to maim and kill up to tens of millions of rabbits, frogs, birds, mice, and other animals over the next few years.
