From New York to San Francisco, St. Louis to Dallas, and dozens of places in between, PETA is driving its Reality TV truck and stopping to broadcast riveting footage from slaughterhouses and circuses and to appeal for compassionate treatment of animals.
Making appearances at city centers, concerts, shopping centers, college campuses, high schools, and restaurants throughout the United States, PETAs Reality TV truck takes viewers behind the scenes and helps consumers make kind choices over cruel ones. PETAs campaigners are there, too, to offer leaflets and vegetarian starter kits to all comers.
Says PETA campaigner William Rivas-Rivas, This truck is truly hell on wheels. Rivas-Rivas has traveled around the globe to campaign for animal rights everywhere.
Showing video footage gets amazing results. The fear and horror visible in the eyes of the animals depicted in the footage shares our message in a powerful way, he says. We cant save the animals in the footage, but showing what they endured must be used to help other animals.
Commenting on the reactions of passersby, PETA2 warrior Karin Robertson enthused, The reception was so positive. We showed Meet Your Meat, in which animals are slaughtered for the table, and people vowed to go vegetarian. We ran out of vegetarian starter kits in a few hours.
