Kathy Najimy, known for her comic roles in Hocus Pocus, Sister Act, and Veronicas Closet, was thrilled to get in the sack to send a playful reminder that there are more satisfying ways to stay warm than wrapping up in dead animal fur. The PETA ad ran atop taxis and in bus shelters during Fashion Week in New York City.
Each year, millions of animals are trapped in steel-jaw leghold traps. Those who dont freeze or starve are usually beaten to death or suffocated when the trapper arrives hours or days later. Animals on fur farms are crowded inside wire-mesh cages, where they suffer from disease, parasites, neglect, and stress. The animals are anally electrocuted, poisoned, suffocated, and sometimes skinned alive.
Kathy is always ready to speak up whenever she sees someone wearing fur. She tells them, Your fur coat hurts my feelings.
