Every day, PETA receives more than 50 urgent reports ... that's more than 18,000 calls in the past year—about shocking animal abuse and cruelty—from neighborhood backyards where dogs have been chained in the freezing cold or blistering sun to facilities such as cosmetics testing laboratories, factory farms, puppy mills, and circuses.
These calls involve animals of all shapes and sizes in heart-wrenching danger and distress. And the number of animals who need us is growing—we have had a 35 percent increase in the number of reports since last year.
Some of the calls lead to all-out investigations, often involving undercover work. Some lead to hands-on animal rescues. Some lead to legal action to stop the abuse and bring those responsible to justice.
But each and every call represents an animal who needs our help. And in order to be able to respond each and every time, PETA needs your support on a regular, monthly basis.
