Does This Pup Look Like a Popsicle to You?

DOGS WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD
A Little Love Goes a Long Way

BEFORE
A "welcome" mat, an old gas grill, and some rickety pieces of plywood were all that stood between this dog and the elements.
AFTER
A cozy doghouse built and delivered by PETA keeps this pup high and dry.

BEFORE
A coffee table(!) and two pieces of plywood didn't help much in rain and snowstorms.
AFTER
Our snug doghouse, raised off the ground and designed with a small doorway to the side, keeps out cold drafts.

BEFORE
With winter fast approaching, this chained dog had nothing but a leafless tree for protection.
AFTER
Grateful for even the bale of straw that PETA volunteers delivered while they were in the neighborhood, the shivering dog immediately huddled up against it. (She was later confiscated by animal control.)

PETA president Ingrid Newkirk found Micha, pregnant, abandoned, and facing a long winter, living on the scraps she could find in a dumpster. Pictured here with her new "mom," Monica Ernst, Micha never has to worry about where her next meal is coming from.
Found as a tiny puppy wandering in the snow by PETA's Community Animal Project staffers, Vinnie now spends winter days inside, curled up by the radiator.
