i cannot wait to see the entire film! i intend to share it with my 11th & 12th grade reading classes, then i will ask them to write a response. i am confident that it will prompt many of them to do further research on their own. as for my lessons i will continue to use the "teach kind" curriculum. the combination will, i am sure, be life changing for them--and isn't that all we can hope for?

I loved it... This documentary speaks volumes about PETA's direction and focus, as well as Ingrid's drive and dedication. Those who do not understand PETA's proactive stance after seeing this film will never get it...

I have yet to watch the film. Although I usually need a LOT of courage to watch the undercover videos on the website, awareness is key. Because of what I have seen ... I have become a vegetarian. I have spread information on the fur trade and influenced those around me to ban fur once and for all. Small steps ... for a great victory for our animals friends. Thank goodness for Ingrid Newkirk. I can sleep better at night thanks to PETA :) PS : How about PETA Japan?

I haven't seen the film yet, but am looking forward to it. Recently, I’ve spent a week being horrified by watching PETA's shocking videos of animal cruelty. If it weren't for PETA’s China fur trade video on my news website, I wouldn’t have known about the atrocities that are happening to animals all over the world. Thank goodness for brave undercover agents who dare to capture disgusting, sub-humans TORTURING animals which can be used as evidence for prosecution. After I stopped shaking from the TORTURE videos, I decided that I needed to get the nerve to take action and joined PETA and have become a vegan because I love and respect animals. It staggers my mind that atrocities are continuously happening to defenseless animals by such disgusting and barbaric thugs who regard animals as inanimate objects. The crimes are beyond belief and I thank God for Ingrid Newkirk's astonishing accomplishments in a world where many people don't want to face the realities of this existing cruelty.

ms. newkirk i just finished seeing your documentary and i must say i was in shock. at the beginning i couldn't understand how a person could become such a fanatic for animal rights.afterthis movie i completely understand you and how much impotence you feel when ever you see any kind of animal cruelty. i applaud you for your unstop effort in defending does poor animals that have no chance at all. you have become a lider amoung us, people who believe in animal rights. to finish i would like to salut you and say that hope and faith should be the last thing a person should lose in this life. god bless you ingrid newkirk

This movie was deeply inspiring to me, I recognize now Ingrid is my role model, I admire her a lot, because she is a hero to me for all that she has done for the animals. I had seen earthings before and it makes me feel really angry and sad at the same time to see what people are doing to animals. I wish one day I will be able to become such a strong-willed leader to such an important matter, such as ingrid. In this movie I was able to see some of the campaigns peta has to turn to because people decide to ignore the reality of our world, were for most animals it goes beyond hell when they are tortured in hurt in such unbearable ways. I admire you ingrid and hope at least somewhere in the world people get your message because im sure that it really got through to me.

I have some baby dwarf hamsters that i need to give away because i have to travel and i can not keep them with me, i dont want to just leave them but giving them a nice place to live, they are very cute for people who like a small, not noisy or messy and not demanding or expensive pet, well you must know that, i have some pictures, and if you could help me in this matter i would really appreciate it.

I watched the movie I am animal coming close to a year ago. I became a vegetarian that day and I can honestly say I will never eat meat again. I want no part of the cruel and horrible things that humans put poor innocent animals through. I just ordered the DVD, because even though I have already seen it I want others around me to see it as well, plus I know that the money is going towards helping these victims. Keep up the great work Ingrid..you are a angel

I believe that this video was an eye opener for me. I never really knew what PETA was really about. Even though some images were disturbing to watch, it makes you understand that these things do exist. In some points of the movie, i disagreed with some of the stunts made such as the nude protest, because yeah, it makes people watch it on t.v., but for this reason that PETA sometimes crosses the line, is the reason why people hate PETA. There are many other ways in which we can make people understand to stop animal cruelty that are both beneficial to PETA and to the civilians of our planet. Ingrid E. Newkirk is a brave person for continuing her work of protecting these animals for not backing down when the situation is bad. But just one thing, try to improve your strategies on making people understand that PETA is good, and not wicked and bad like you're making it seem. Thanks PETA.

This film broke my heart, I cried for days on end. The images are so disturbing. I found myself begging for mercy on these innocent, voiceless souls.I will do everything in my power to do right by ALL animals. I will forever be affected by this film. Thank you PETA, I am a supporter.

The film is an eye opener! We live our lives, go through the motions, talk on our cell phones, order at the drive-thru and simply forget.... (dont care?) We forget about all the sacrifices that are made every day; all the hurt and cruelty. ...all those precious lives. This film brought it to the forefront of my life. My new year's resolution was to make a positive change for my family and we are now almost completely vegetarians. I thank you for having a heart and for speaking out for those animals that cant. It needs to be shocking or nobody pays attention. Keep up the wonderful work!!

Hey, you really inspired me. I became vegetarian about 2 years ago because I just love animals and I really don't want to contribute to the pain and suffering. After watching "Meet Your Meat" I knew I could NEVER eat any type of meat again. It makes me sick the word "meat" is so disgusting! I use the term dead animal, i don't know why. You are my hero, and this really inspired me. One day I hope to make a difference in the world of animals for the good. I'm working on it step at a time! PETA has helped me a lot, and I have started to inspire some to even give up dead animal. I really hope to go vegan soon, but mom says I need to get healthier first with the whole vegetarian thing. Oh, and one question.. Is there a replacement for leather shoes? Thank you for your time and understanding Molly.

I have much respect for Ingrid Newkirk. I love her passion, confidence and determination. But mostly, I love what she stands for. This film was very eye opening and interesting, as it gave the history of how PETA started and what it has became today. Fantastic! And it reminds me how proud I am to be vegetarian, and live cruelty free. I recommend this to anyone! 5 thumbs up!

I couldn't believe when I watched the movie... The scenes of the man steping on the dog's head is amazing. How come one does such a thing? I recently became veggie and noe I'm even more proud of my acts! I think everyone who wacthes this movie will do the same; it's impossible to eat meat after seeing such cruelty towards animals. They are vunerable and don't deserve!

I caught this on HBO on Demand. It's an amazing documentary, but was so hard for me to watch. When I saw that man who stepped on that dog's (wolf?) face and tortured him while he was still alive, I was was reminded why I became a vegetarian and animal-rights supporter seven years ago. I'm proud to not support behavior like this. Ingrid Newkirk is a hero. lol!

My story is short - I happened to touch a jacket lined with mink fur, felt incredibly sad and went online to see what minks look like. Found PETA and have now stopped eating meat and joined the animal activist network. Isn't it amazing how anestethized we had all become. We never knew! It was all well hidden from our eyes, packed in shiny boxes, and colourful packaging. Meat was just meat, and you tried not to think beyond that. Ingrid, I hope you never stop. I hope you are around for a long time. I hope you never get tired. If you do - we are here, and will carry forward the wave. Greetings to you all, People. Lets spread the word. Sofia, Bulgaria

This is an extraordinary film. It's not fun to watch, as a matter of fact I cried several times. It's so powerful. I relate with Ingrid a great deal, and agree with her about basically all she said. I also appreciated the way that the film showed the views of others, and was not simply a marketing tool for PETA. I think that made it all the more powerful. I love the turkey, I forget her name, but she is an example of what PETA is all about. Thank you PETA, and Ingrid, for opening my eyes and helping me to open the eyes of others that I meet. I will never stop working to help animals. I owe a lot to your organization.

I would like to thank you for supporting animals and by doing so making all the other people understand that people are animals and animals are people!!!! I LOVED the documentary, seeing you in your every day life was an inspiration!! I am a vegetarian and I am always proud of it, PETA HAS MADE ME PROUD!!!! I am Jewish and I was annoyed with the Jewish people that got offended that you compared the holocaust to animals, it is the same concept, and animals do not have A VOICE to defend themselves!!! I thank you!!!! You are an amazing strong women and hopefully more people see what PETA is!!!

The love for animals comes with its fair share of tears in a world with so much cruelty. But luckily there are people like Newkirk who is an inspiration to all of us so that we can take the focus from ourselves and do something for the most vulnerable. With all my heart, thanks for all the good work.

In just a few words...it absolutely broke my heart to watch that video of animal abuse and keep up the good work, please, for the animals! This video should be shown on public television channels such as on animal planet, discovery channel, etc. As heart breaking as it was to watch, we all need to see it so that we can do something about it. I joined PETA after viewing this video. Thanks Ingrid Newkirk.

If those who harm animals don´t use subtle methods, those wo defend them shoulden't wisper for animal rights. I believe Peta´s methods are necesary. I changed to a Vegan diet because the images in Petas videos´were so shocking, that they changed the way I saw meat. Meat became "animalized" to me (I used to see a hamburger as a hamburger, and not as a peace of dead animal). I support Peta´s work, and hope we all do what´s on our hands to stop violence against our brothers animals. Peta has inspired me to choose, and now that my eyes were opened, I don´t want to be a consenting part of the cruelty against animals.

I give HBO a lot of credit for this documentary. I watched when it aired back November and still cannot get it out of my head. I cannot get over the amount of fur coats that I see, which often remind me of those horrible images. Some parts were extremely hard to watch but as my mom always says, "if they have to live it, you can watch it." I have to agree with many posters that I have often thought PETA’s tactics were too dramatic and controversial to get people to actually hear and accept the message vs. dismissing it. However Ingrid Newkirk said something in the video that I never realized - that those tactics are employed once all else has failed and that sometimes the media attention is exactly what gets companies to change. A breakthrough in animal testing was announced in USA and the Guardian this week - a movement to use cells and robots when possible. This is partly due to pressure and awareness generated from organizations like PETA. Thanks for being our voice.

I applaud Ms. Newkirk and others at PETA for their ability to do this difficult but tremedously valuable work on behalf of animals everywhere. I am in complete agreement with Ms. Newkirk that we are all animals and all animals feel. I had to stop watching "I Am An Animal" part way through as the images of depravity against animals was too tough for me to take in although some seem to have stuck to the back of my eyeballs. I am so glad that Ms. Newkirk and others at PETA can still forge ahead. It would drive me mad to see this stuff on a regular basis. For many years I've been taking in stray cats - the ones that no one else would want because of appearance, age, health, or behaviour. They teach me every day how precious all life and is and how joyful they can be in the absence of pain and fear.

I think that the extremity draws attention, which is good. But this doesn't seem like something that is planned out to the T, it seems emotional and something that would come naturally. I have been a vegetarian for quite some time now and I have witnessed some brutal behavior towards chickens, dogs, cats, many other animals in India - humans really are the worst species on the face of the earth.I think animals are the purest, theyre completely innocent. Animals are simple, honest and just because they are not able to speak or do human like things doesn't give anyone the right to take charge of them and treat them like toys or science experiments. God put plants, vegetables on this earth for a purpose.

I'm so glad that this documentary was created. It finally pushed me to stop buying meat and make a veggie pledge for 30 days. I couldn't imagine not eating meat, but I have found it very easy as there are always alternatives on the menu. Although I don't agree that any publicity is good publicity, I'm happy that there are people such as Ingrid who are working hard to bring attention to the plight of animals, as I have always felt that they have no voice and it is up to us to speak out for them. To Ingrid, the staff at Peta and other animal advocates, thank you for all that you do.

i was surprised at the film i am animal. i think the tactics used to get the publics attention are wrong. by going to such extreme, i feel the public will just ignore peta and think them as silly. don't you think you should just stress the cruelty and eliminate the public displays, such as dressing as animals and the red paint. i do not support damaging property and most people would not either.peta will not get their point across by dressing up. just mention the horrors of slaughter without mentioning names. i think this would get more attention then anything else. also, your body should be honored after death not cut up and displayed. thank you

I Am An Animal was really quite inspiring and as all PeTA videos are, informative and exactly on the point. I taped "I am an animal" when the night it appeared on HBO because I was busy. The next day I watched it and cryed, cryed for awhile. I only saw until the beating of the dog or wolf were being skinned alive. Why are people killing innocent animals for their fur alive or treating them and knowing they do have feelings. I am not strong enough to watch the whole biography. Maybe someday but i hate crying for the innocent animals.

I have to admit I haven't watched it yet because I'm scared to watch it... Latelly I've been seeing to many videos of animal abuse, neglect and torture; and it breaks my heart... I've been very depressed and many people have told me to stop watchind this things cause they affect me to much... I always cared for animals, but I'm making much more changes... It took me two times to watch it all. Emotionally draining but well worth it! It stays with you and changes your myths about the holocaust, the superiority of your species, the heavy toll animal welfare work takes on people.I have so much respect for Ingrid and her organization. This video shows that PETA is not a fringe organization addicted to publicity but a knowledgeable and unique one that is changing minds and opening up our awareness of the enormity of the pain humans are causing to other species. I have renewed hope that this huge injustice can be changed and after seeing this film, that no one can pretend that all that pain should be tolerated.

I just want to say that eat more beef girl who wonders why we should change is a moron. Just because you treat your animals nicely before you butcher them does not mean you have a heart. That's like giving a kid a lolly after you molest it in the hopes it'll make it better. You're okay with sentient beings being eaten and that's crazy ... maybe one reason you should change is so you can stop being so selfish towards other creatures.

To: Michele Vanhoose, I'm happy that this movie make a big change in your life, that I understand is that your family is changing too, I have to say that in my case, my son eats some vegan meals, but he is still eating meat, and my husband doesn't want to quit, and the rest of my family that I try to convince don't wanto to change their bad habits, so I feel like lonely, I have a baby 21 months old and I give hust vegan food for him, but his father give some meat to him, and then we have a problem. I would like they understand but no it is too dificult when it is not enough love for the animals

I became a vegan the next day after I saw the film (on its first airing, the Monday after Thanksgiving). I purged my cabinets of everything containing meat and dairy products, giving them to a local food bank. My husband and son are now eating Vegan meals at night. I still buy a couple of dairy products for them (but only from Whole Foods because Peta supports their treatment of animals). Ingrid, thank you for changing my life in such a positive way!!! I cannot get over how happy I am to shop responsibly. And I tell people about animal welfare EVERYWHERE I go, in stores especially when asking questions about what things are made of, etc. The store clerks sometimes look at me in a strange way, but I know that somewhere deep inside they may be listening and that I may be dropping a seed of information that will help them make a positive change for the animals in the future. Thank you, PETA, for all you do!

The very reason someone would ask, "Why do we need to change - we have been doing this for years.." displays a callous ignorance to the plight of these animals. I would hope no one would need to be reminded that the notion of slavery and women as property had also been done for years. People need to change because it is the morally and ethically right thing to do. That's great that the cattle are treated well, but if you could ask the animals, they would probably say that "great treatment ends" ends when they are hung upside down and their throats slit while they are fulling conscious. Anyone who has the courage to watch this video (or Slaughterhouse)and say "EAT MORE BEEF," I feel truly sorry for.

Bruce Zeman

I have unfortunately not been able to view the film. I would very much like to. I have been raised around cattle and all other kinds of livestock my entire life. I have earned a high respect of animals. We earn a living from raising and selling cattle. I promise you that our animals are treated with the absolute best care we can possibly give them. They have plenty of room to roam and graze. They are fed hay and grain, minerals and salt, they are vaccinated for everything imaginable. They are checked on daily, and when calving, at least twice daily. People have been hunting and fishing and eating meat since the beginning of time. Why do we need to change??????? I guess, that even after I do get the opportunity to view the film, it will not change my beliefs. I am not a vegetarian. I enjoy eating a nice steak or hamburger or catfish or seafood. EAT MORE BEEF!

To the commentator who call the film "a fluff piece" and did not have the grit to post his full name. As a brand new PETA supporter I want you to know you that you and all the other animal rights group are still loved by PETA only because you said you are an "animal person." Athough I feel their hurt, pain and fears I have the courage to go about my daily life knowing someone is working to end their suffering.

This film was created for a specific purpose in mind. That is to enhance the publics' awareness as well as to educate about the realities of animal abuse and cruelty. It is an eye opener. Yes we were fooled, deceived, mislead and in most cases face to face lied to from animal abusers and animal murderers. As brand new PETA member and reading about Ingrid, I realized that his film was NOT performed under false pretences or an "act" for a movie, this is Ingrid in her most genuine and purist form. While trying to express herself of the pain and the cries she feels and hears of the vulnerable others became intrigued by her determination to save the "silence of the lambs". she is like a mother who will risk her life to save her babies in anyway she can.

Though I did not watch the whole film, myself...I couln't stomach the cruelty that animals are faced with...I am glad there are people like you in this world...it still brings a tear to my eye, when I read other peoples comments on the documentary. Keep up the good work.

While obviously critical of Ingrid in its attempt to be 'balanced', I thought that it was a rather enjoyable documentary. I managed not to cry in the usual places but lost it when they released the rescued turkey into the make-shift sanctuary at the PETA offices. Cried like a baby!

Is this a fluff piece or an actual documentary? In hearing the director's and Ingrid's comments it makes me think that anything that might be viewed as negative has been taken out. Furthermore, it seems like there is a lack of respect and recognition from both the filmmaker and PETA for other Animal Rights groups that haven't taken such a hard line with certain issues (fishing, for example). I doubt this comment will ever make it past the censors but oh well... here's for trying from a non-PETA animal person.

I wish that I was as intelligent, savvy and daring as Ingrid Newkirk. I want to learn from her, so that I could start an organization that spoke out agaisnt companies that committ human rights violations. Seeing the impact that she has made on animal rights cruelity is an inspiration. That to inact change in this world, one has to make stand up and made themselves heard. Imagine being able to pressure companies to treat their humans well. Just as Ingrid is able to pressure companies to change their animal policies.

You are an angel and a Mother Teresa for animals. I have never felt healther and my figure had never been better after becoming vege and choosing vege protein like soy, grains, legumes and raw nuts. I am a cardiac nurse, I lift weights, take martial arts and am student. As a cardiac nurse I witness so many heart attacks from clogged arteries, and administer cholesterol and blood pressure lowing medications from meat lovers. I hope others can make a heart healthy change today.

I watched the video didn't really know much about peta but after watching that it made you think about how cruel people really can be with dog or wolf getting skinned alvie they can't even kill it first that was probally one of the most disturbing things I have seen but its good it opens peoples eyes to what really happens to defencless aniimals peta is doing a really good thing

I just watched the documentary and let me aplaud you through my tears. I feel sickened by what I witnessed, and I am sure that was not the worst of the animal cruelty industry. If not anything else, you raised awareness to one person. I vow from this day forward not to eat or wear any type of animal. I also vow to raise awareness by whatever means necessary. Once again, I aplaud your efforts from the very bottom of my heart.

the documentary was incredible, i agree with almost everything except that she said she didn't believe in pets, what would happen to the millions of animals that are rescued and adopted from pounds, shelters, off the streets, and from abusive situations if people did not have them for pets, also i believe in God, she does not, He created these beautiful creatures for us to enjoy their beauty not to torture and kill for our own pleasures, we will for have to answer to God for destroying this beautiful World and His creatures for our own greed

I've done my fair share of reading on this subject over the past year and this film sincerely was the final straw. Thank you all for your hard work, it means so much. I know plenty of people who look upon PETA as "crazy," but I must admit, that is only them attempting to rationalize their own ignorance. Once again, thank you, this was a very important film, only paling in comparison to the every day work you all do though. Cheers.

I am so proud of you and all of those who are struggling to bring all of these issues out. I also love animals. I worked at USAMRID years ago, where animals were used for research of infectious diseases. I quite after a year… didn’t have the heart for it anymore. I’ve recently reopened my personal website and am adding information about animal abuse to my new forum. I will add information about your organization today. www.tusetcs.com/roundtable We are supposed to be the shepherds of our world, and we have become the destroyers of it. I've always wanted to know how PETA got started & wanted more information on Ingrid Newkirk. All I knew was that she was the founder. I watched "I Am an Animal" w/my 2 daughters aged 11 & 15. Some parts, my 11yr. old closed her eyes. My 15yr. old & I were in tears when we saw a cruel person skin an animal alive. I didn't think HBO would show that part, to see an animal taking its last breath as we watched,& surprising to us, it was still alive! How cruel & unhumane! I applaude Ingrid and her team @ PETA for their grueling hard work & dedication to educate people like myself. And for the public to be aware of such heinous acts towards animals. I feel this Documentary should be shown in High Schools across the U.S. to educate our youth who will be future leaders. -Thank You !!

The movie really got to me. I started crying on the video clips of animals being tortured and killed. Like for example the wolf or dog was being stepped on the head and also being skinned that really made me realize that there are cruel people out there. I thought to myself that how much I wish they felt the same pain as the animal. That video really did get to me and I glad you made it. I just couldnt belive that they skinned animals while they were still alive but those are just people with no heart.

I am forever grateful for Ingrid Newkirk and the PETA. Films like these make it impossible to turn a blind eye to such horrific cruelty. I hope the images stand out in the minds of viewers, and they will boycott products of people who support such cruelty. I love fashion and believe an accessory expresses individuality. If someone can see this video and still wear fur, it definitely says a lot about their personality. Animals are innocent, loving creatures and if we don't even protect them, what does that say about the human race? I will NEVER eat meat again or walk into a Fendi store. As a consumer, I hope that sends a powerful message. And to the PETA, consider your army one man stronger...Thank you for all that you do.

I am a long time PETA member and contributor. It's great that HBO made this film, and I believe that it will help the cause of animals. I was a little disappointed with the fact that most of the criticisms of Ingrid Newkirk and some footage that made PETA's tactics look ridiculous came near the end of the film. This may have created a false impression that such tactics have caused PETA not to be as effective as it used to be. The only two negative items that bothered me personally were the fake cow udders (which just looked silly) and the Holocaust comparisons. I have always felt that particular campaign did more harm than good. I will always be a PETA supporter but, please, don't give too much fodder to your enemies. Most harrowing moment of the film: The fox being skinned alive and then lying there, still alive, with no skin. Most poignant moment: The look on the face of the saved turkey as it stood alone in its little room, with the straw and the classical music.

I would love to watch this film, I admire Ingrid's passion. People should know that slavery still exists - only now it's poor animals who are suffering! What is wrong with the world?? I was left in tears after viewing the horrific videos on GoVeg.com and will never eat or buy meat ever again.

I am ashamed to say, but I am someone who has eaten meat my entire life. My husband and I watched the documentary last week, and needless to say it was life changing. I have not been able to rid myself of the horrific images, and I feel like this is a nightmare I cannot wake from. No one should have to endure torment, suffering, and truly being born into a living hell. I am now vegan, and my husband is now vegetarian. I have enjoyed every new vegan food I've tried so far. Tofu spinach lasagna from the vegan starter two-week menu is delish! I thank Peta and Ingrid for all of their tireless efforts. You have changed my life, I just wish it hadn't taken me thirty-four years to open my eyes.

I pray every day that I will still be alive to see the day that eating animal products or using them for our gain is a thing of the past.

When I saw the documentary, the entire time I was thinking of my love for animals and how I never knew that these things were happening. I decided that I wasn’t going to support anything dealing with the abuse and mistreatment of animals. Also, I am no longer eating meat, and trying to exclude dairy. I have already made the plans to start a club at my school. My goal for the club is to take things step by step. I wouldn’t like to try and make people accept the issue and look for immediate results. What I’m doing is trying to push the issue out into the school so that people can become aware of the things that are happening to animals. I’m 14 years old and animal cruelty isn’t something that is normally discussed in conversations, as frequent as the latest football game or drama show. I would really like to thank the people at PETA for making me realize and acknowledge that these things are happening, and thank you for opening my eyes to reality.

I saw only half of the film because it was too strong for me to wacthed. however, i am glad that this documentary was made to show people that animals are extremely abused and they DO NOT HAVE ANY WAY TO DEFEND THEMSELVES.i completly admire ingrid for being a person who defends the rights of animals. ingrid you do a beautiful job! i hope someday animal abuse ends. it is too sad and painfull knowing that this happens everyday and the goverment does not do anything to stop the testing on animals.

I think that the documentary exposed some of the harsh realities that animals have to face today. It also helped dispel some of the falsehoods that, unfortunately, are held in society regarding PeTA.I realize that PeTA is simply trying to ensure that each animal has a life and death full of nurture;love;and dignity.People are quick to assume that PeTA is on the news because it has some radical agenda...These people need to keep in mind that we live in a society that is exposed to so much violence;malignant hate;and tragedy that we have grown tolerant;lazy;and become largely desensitzed by the injustices surrounding us...Who needs a horror movie anymore?Turn on the news that will scare the hell out of you.To this end,I understand that any cause must continually find innovative and creative ways to bring attention to their message.Ingrid Newkirk has my respect and admiration.I believe PeTA can make a difference one person;one rancher;one farm;one scientist at a time. -Anne M. You are ahead of your time, Ingrid! Folks criticize your tactics but are theirs getting any results. Sometimes you have to get in people's faces to make them see. This film made me so excited that it was being aired to such a wide audience I leaped out of my chair and did a little yelping dance around the living room! I heard from a few carnivores that it verified that PETA is a crazy organization, but they admitedly did not watch the entire show. I told them they must watch the entire show and then tell me how they feel. I felt that their might of been too many negative opinions of Ingrid in the movie. Overall I was so happy this film was made and that Ingrid is so relentless in her efforts. It really helped me to understand her motives. Bravo!

After seeing the film, I'm so proud to scream out that I have been a member of PETA for nearly the last (close to) fifteen years. While it is very true that many of these demonstrations yield unusal antics and/or stunts, PETA certainly attracts the attention of on-lookers and idiot media and the the rest of the people who JUST DON'T GET IT. All of this is geared towards a percentile of the population who are too stupid to realize that animals feel pain when they are hurt, feel love loss, and certainly know when their lives are miserable; only, they can't figure out what's wrong. That's why PETA is here, and other individuals like myself, who are on the band wagon to fight the abuse of all animals, from the smallest to the largest, who suffer at the hands of ignorant, insensitive humans. Thank you again Ingrid and PETA for having the audacity, the nerve, and the knowledge to go forward! You're making headway!!!

I applaud and respect Ms. Newkirk becasue she stands behind what she believes in 100% and will do anything for her cause. However, some of her actions are a little drastic. Maybe if more of our world leaders acted in this manner we would live in a more peaceful and balanced society. I just became a vegetarian 6 months ago and the work of PETA was my inspiration. Watching this docementary reinforced and supported everything I am doing and everything I believe in.

There are few people in this world that I would consider "heros" but Ingrid Newkirk tops the list. She is compassionate yet tough, powerful yet humble, a realist yet a dreamer. Ingrid appraoches animal activism with a commando approach because it is the only way to get the attention of the masses. The results are undeniable; when PETA speaks people listen.Although people may not agree with Ingrid's tactics, the fact is they are forced to confront the realities of animal brutality.Thank you, Ingrid, for being a fearless leader in a time when backbones are in short supply!

Ingrid Newkirk's work and life is inspiring. I was so moved by this film. I have watched it three times during the past week. The film reminded me that I want to have a life that has an impact for those who don't have a voice and make a difference in the world. My commitment to having an animal free diet feels renewed and my husband and I, who are childless, are looking into adopting a child. Something I have always wanted to do but after seeing this film, now more than ever. Thank you, Ingrid Newkirk, for your selflessness and devotion to the animals. You are my hero.

Facinating film into the understanding and the evolvation of Peta. Not only does it show a political side of the fight Peta is fighting, but Ingrid is able to show a personal side to her battle with animal abuse. My husband and I are big PETA supporters. We are vegetarians and very animal friendly thanks to their efforts. It was hard to watch because I’m such an animal lover but I’m thankful it has been put on tv show people to the truth. I truly admire PETA and its workers because as much as I do my part, I couldn't do investigations that show the true horror that happens to the animals. Thank you for putting yourselves in such horrific situations to expose the truth for the animals sake. Without footage, most people wouldn’t know the truth. I showed it to some friends and it made a big impact on them to make more informed, animal-friendly choices. I thank PETA and HBO for helping to change the way people look at animals and to stop those that exploit and abuse them. Thanks again for all that you have done for these innocent animals and those of us who want the truth. I proudly stand behind you and hopefully more people support PETA and animal rights. I so glad that I sat down and watched the documentary. I think that I understand some of the methods of PETA much better now. I don't always agree with them, but PETA has done more for animal welfare and rights than any other group in the world. People take notice when PETA gets involved. I do, however, feel so sad that Ingrid has choosen to be an atheist. She is denying herself the pleasure and love that can only come from beliving in God and accepting Christ as her salvation. With God on your side all things are possible. Thinking of all of the neglect and cruelty that is inflicted on animals everywhere is enough of make a conscious person go crazy. I get through by putting my worries in God's hands and do what I can here on Earth to help. I'd just like to say thank you to Ingrid and the rest of the PETA staff for all that you have done and continue to do for animals!

It's unbelievable that such evil humans exist to make innocent animals suffer. I do not eat beef and made a commitment to cut other meats out of my diet afte seeing this film. KFC should be exposed further and boycotted globally. How can a company hire such evil employees? SHAME! Who regulates these slaughterhouses? What laws are there to protect these animals? Seems that Nothing is being done by any Govt. org. These sick workers should be exposed publicly along with the CEO's of those immoral companies. Ingrid and the team at PETA can only be driven to combat such evil.. Keep up the fight.

It was late, about 2am and I was just about to go to bed until I turned it to HBO. The first scene I saw was the skinning(torture) of those dogs. I literally started balling, it was tough to watch, but it is reality for so many unfortunate animals. They are defenseless and they are like children. Peta has brought awareness to animal cruelty issues and has helped so many helpless animals. From all of us animal lovers we thank you. How true that a picture is worth more than a thousand words. The movie was hard to watch at times but so important. I am a vegan but my husband is not, however after watching the movie together he vowed to make more of an effort to eat vegetarian meals. Thank you PETA and Ingrid for all that you are doing in the fight for animal rights and liberation. Like other posters mentioned, the images of animal testing and the skinned alive animal still breathing and blinking afterwards makes me sick and terribly sad at the same time. Thank you for the movie and I sincerely hope it will open the eyes of many to the plight of animals that are being used in unspeakable ways for us human animals. GO VEGAN!!!!

I have been aware and supportive of PETA and animal rights since a young age after I learned what veal was. I have worked in the animal/veterinary profession almost all of my life and it's hard not to lose faith in humanity after the things I have seen personally. I was saddened, but not shocked, by her hate mail! So many people in our society seem to think animals are ours to do what we please with. I feel that Ingrid is a compelling and strong individual to persevere in her beliefs. I though the film was very well done, I liked how it showed different kinds of animals and the industries who abuse them. I was also impressed with dog house giving idea, I wasn't aware of that program and I think it's great! That poor pit bull! It's human ignorance and selfishness that is the cause of the masses of homeless animals and breed ban issues!! Having a companion animal is a privilege , NOT OUR RIGHT!!!

I am so glad for movies like this and peta as a whole. It can sometimes be very difficult to stand up for animals when so many others just dont understand why i feel this way. I saw the film on HBO yesterday and ever since, the images of the skinned-alive and still moving and blinking dog/fur-donor can't get out of my mind. That is the essence of PETA; animal rights activism is not sunday school for ignorants. It has to be harsh and shocking in order to make itself be heard. PETA's ways are sometimes drastic, yet never wrong. This movie was so true. Especially Ingrid Newkirks's opening words that an animal can't defend itself, that's why it's so vulnerable to the evil will of humankind. An animal is very much a child that needs to be protected from abuse because it can't speak out and protect itself. In the end, the movie's message was that no matter what you think of PETA's ways, it has made the world a better place in that it has made up the minds of quite a few companies to go cruelty-free and fur-free. It has raised awareness. It has educated. That's PETA.

I have watched "I am an Animal" and want to express my thanks to Ingrid Newkirk and everyone at PETA, for everything you have done in the past, are doing NOW, and will continue to do in the future, for the animals. Ingrid - you are my hero! :-)

Ingrid, I was terribly saddened to hear you read the letters you receive - such harsh comments on your work and your person are very hurtful for me to listen to and, although they must fuel your determination, they must sometimes get to you as well. I have the utmost respect for you, your team, your work, and I hang by your every words. You have inspired me to "get over myself" and to put my life to good use. Watching the documentary, seeing how simply yet amazingly you life your life, making every moment purposeful and meaningful to other sentient beings, is such a reminder that we are here for a reason, for a contribution to the world and we must put our gifts to good use. We are not here to enjoy the ride! I was becoming a waste of oxygen! Ingrid, you give hope to the world and somehow you keep inspiring me over and over again. I am a much better person today for I know a little more about you. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

I thank PETA for the information it gives people. I never knew how horibly animals where treated untell I was about 10. We had a pig farm and my mother and my aunt took my cousins and I to the park. They came home to early and I saw my friend hanging by his legs in th air from a A-frame and get his trought slit while he was trashing.I will never get that out of my head. Sense then I have made an eforte to my family and freinds to show them and read to them things they never knew. They are mostly amased by the things I show them ( they had know idea) but I'm also made fun of and am told I have a tender heart. Well I would rather have a tender heart than no heart at all.Thank you PETA

It was about time for your movie to come out! It was good although I do believe in constructive criticism so I have a few thoughts about it. I like how it gave a personal look into Ingrid's life. I realize the movie wanted to show both sides (PETA vs. "other" animal rights groups). Maybe this was the whole point but I did not appreciate how that spokeswoman dummified the movie with her opinions about PETA. I would have liked to see more people in favor versus against. I really don't know why those two people had to be in the movie at all. All it did, in my opinion, was to give the brain dead humans more reason to go, "see, even their own think they are crazy!" PETA has transformed our world for the better and should only be given credit for that. Thank you PETA! Thank you Ingrid! P.S. That image of the dog being skinned alive has haunted me since I saw it.

First of all i would like to say a huge thank you to Ms. Newkirk. You are a big inspiration to me and i think it's wonderful that you dedicate your life to the creatures who don't have a say in what happens to them. I am a supporter of PETA and i think it's amazing what they are doing. I love animals and it it causes me extreme pain to see the suffering that humans bring upon them. I am only 14 years old, but I've been a vegitarian for at least 4 years. As soon as I'm able to drive I will be out making a difference for the abused animals in this world!

I finished watching the film and am filled with anger and sadness, as I am any time I spend an extended period of time facing the atrocities of reality for animals in the world today. I'm especially astonished and angered by the comments made by the other animal welfare groups. They say that Peta is not making any progress and is instead hindering the movement. They say that flailing about in a store window and drawing comparisons with the Holocaust is crossing the line and too over the top, but I compare it to war. When there is human suffering, no one would think twice about doing whatever is necessary to bring it to an end. Why is taking over a store window so outrageous? There wouldn't be a movement with out Peta. Dear God, Thank you for Ingrid Newkirk and for every single person that has ever enlightened another person about the plight of animals. Amen.

I could not watch all of this movie. I have never been so enraged. I did not realize people treated animals in this way. This movie inspired me to join PETA. I always thought you all were kooks but after seeing the good you are doing for animals, my opion has changed. I am even becoming a vegeterian. Anyone that mistreats an animal should be treated as a criminal. I think animals should have the same rights to security and ethical treatment as people. I have never been as angry as I was watching this movie. I fear for any person that I see mistreating an animal like I saw on your show. Sincerely, Henry

excellent job. i only wish we could show about 3 shots of the monkeys, turkys and starving dogs in commercials. to place these pictures in someones mind which they would not be able to forget would then cause them to inquire and feel the shame we humans have caused.

Ingrid and the team at PETA deserve a medal for the work they do. I am a proud peta member. The movie was reminded me just how cruel society can be. The picture of the animal stil taking breaths after it was skinned alive will haunt me forever as will all the pictures of cruelty. I have become a vegetarian and close to being a vegan because I cannot and will not support the meat industry. Thank you for this movie! It is time for people to own up! I will do everything in my power to help this cause including promoting this film. Thank you Thank You Diane Baptie RN vermont

I just watched the "I am an Animal" documentary and want to thank HBO for airing it. It was as eye-opening and moving as it was disturbing. Ingrid, when speaking of good press. Before today, when I thought of animal protectors I thought of PeTA, not any of the critics of your work. ~sy

Dear Ingrid; It really is ashame that we the people with hearts and souls have to have a film like this to watch to make us behave in a manner that should be automatic, to love all creatures on this earth. To treat them in a way that we ourselves want to be treated.. with love, kindness, companionship, protection from harm, shelter, healthy diet and most of all, knowing that we are important. What has happened to the people of this world?

I did not see the film (do not have HBO) but my niece did. She called to tell me about it and was in shock. She couldn't believe what cruelty people are capable of. She was very angry. I said I had seen many things on the internet and the images still haunt me.

I was watching this movie from the beginning last night and i usually miss it and im am an animal lover. i couldnt watch it when those guys were stomping on and crushing the skulls of those poor animals and then skinned them practically ALIVE i mean they were still BREATHING!!! I had tears in my eyes. I belive what you do is so good and not too extreme and you know what so what if it is!! the animals have no voice the people who care about animals are their voice and we are the only ones who could help!! it really makes me mad and sick when people say they are JUST ANIMALS!!! once i saw how graphic the video was...just actualy SEEING it was so upsetting and so heartless that you wonder..killing someone with the death penalty is too INHUMANE yet they allow pple to rip skins off of animals and do tests on them that hurt or torture them which is a advancement in science or human pleasure of wearing that animals fur. very sick and messed up society....it really is!!

The video about was riveting. I was amazed, at her total compassion for all living animals. This passion was alive in her eyes and her actions. Her involvement surpassed anything I had previously thought possible. She is not someone who sits in her well-appointed office delegating the less glamorous and very difficult tasks to others, but is right there in the midst of all the activists! If someone doesn't bring the reality of animal abuse to the public in ways that will get their attention, then what is the point? I have to believe that if more people were aware of how animals are treated in labs, slaughter houses, puppy mills, and pet stores (and the list goes on and on) that they would be as appalled and angered as we are and would understand the need to bring this to the public by whatever means possible. She is an intelligent, and compassionate person whom I respect and admire. If more of us shared her dedication and passion the world would be a better place for all.

I have an idea. I'm going to obtain a copy of I AM AN ANIMAL on DVD. Then, I'm going to do everything I can, to get people to watch it. "Hey Mom, do you want your house cleaned? Just watch this movie. Hey my friend, would you like your lawn mowed? Just watch this movie." I've been a vegan for 10 years, and it drives me crazy how determined people are, to remain ignorant about animal suffering. Well, I'm going to BRIBE people to watch her movie. We all need to do everything in our power, to help Ingrid fight for total animal liberation. We have to make it IMPOSSIBLE for people to remain ignorant!! We're living in a VERY exciting time, as the internet is helping to bring all of societies dirty little secrets out into the open. Ethical veganism is a snowball that is about to EXPLODE in size, and destroy ALL of the factory farms, slaughterhouses, animal testing labs, zoos, circuses, and rodeos in its path. I love you Ingrid, and I want you to live in a world that's as beautiful as you are.

I went right to the computer after watching and signed up to Peta email and I plan on becoming a member. I have also been alot more considerate toward what and where we eat. I have a small farm and everyone makes fun of me for having what they call (Noah's Ark) I go to the animal auctions and buy, goats and chickens whatever and bring them home, nothing on my property is here for food. My 8 year old daughter has been a vegan since pretty much birth, whenever I would attempt to feed her meat/milk etc. she actually gets physcally sick from it, she loves all animals and thinks even to kill a fly is horrifying, I cant help but wonder what she was in her past life. But I do know that one day when she is old enough she would be the first to be standing right beside you and your friends holding a sign. As a mother I can only support her 100% how can a 8 year old be so intone with the animals already? If you ever do anything in Ontario Canada please count my family in .

To Ingrid Newkirk and all of the great members of this organization: I've always known about PETA, but I must admit that I was duped by the media into thinking that this group was a bunch of radicals who were not really doing much of anything. Hi my name is john. You know when I was a small child I was always taught to treat animals with love and respect my grandmother always told me that how a person treats a animal reflects on how that person will treat another human. I just got done watching I AM AN ANIMAL and I just felt like I had to email you. The videos that I viewed on how those animals were being treated made me sick. I don't even know how someone could do something like that and sleep at night. What you are doing to try to stop it I think is great and is not going to far at all. Keep up the fight. John M

Ingrid is my mentor,a celebrity to me, a wonderful person w/a huge heart.I loved the film & cried many times.I feel like I relate to her so much, when she was talking about how she grew up with her dog, her only companion it made me think about Mandy, my beloved family member "pet". I grew up with her and she was my best friend, she died of old age and will be forever missed, I always visit her Grave.I believe being brought up with Mandy gave me so much empathy for animals and think it is so important for children to be introduced to animals at a young age(of course not at a circus or any other horrible place)at a rescue facility or adopt a homeless pet.I love PETA!! They are the best animal rights org. and I will never stop spreading the word of the endless amount of cruelty and suffering going on in this world and no matter how many ignorant people that want to look the other way and hate Peta, I will forever have there commitment and support.

My life was literally changed within the first 20 minutes of this film. I found myself screaming out loud, "No, no, no..." at the images of cruelty I saw on my screen. To be honest, I couldn't finish watching the film. I never understood what Peta represented and the work they do...I do now. I had no idea such cruelty existed in this world. I will never be the same as I was before I saw this moving documentary. Peta has my full support.

I support Peta totally and I watched the film. I see what Ingrid is going for and I feel the same sometimes however I think her extreme ways turn many people off. I would like to see more "this is why being vegan is cool" kind of campaigns. For extreme animal lovers like myself her points are received loud and clear but to the ones who are wishy washy or just palin selfish other tactics would work better. Still I support PETA entirely and will continue to crusade for animals any way that I can.

I would love to say that I watched the film, but sadly I can't. I am pregnant right now and anything with blood in it makes me gag. I saw a preview and almost threw up! I have seen films like this before and cried my eyes out over the carnage that I witnessed. It takes a lot of hatred for abusers to continue the practice of torturing innocent lives and I pray for their souls everyday. Thank you so much for doing what you are doing and making everyone aware of the plight that animals face. They truly are the silent victims.

Ingrid, I was very eager to see this documentary and was not disappointed. I actually made my famliy and boyfriend sit down and watch it with me. They all think I am crazy for fighting for animal rights. Each of my family members slowly got up and left, but my boyfriend watched the whole documentary with me. The point I am getting to is; he had never listened to me in our heated debates on animal rights, but this film got him to listen. It was spectacular. I enjoyed the fact that it was neither pro or anti PETA...it explored all sides. I am glad that it opened the eyes of one of my loved ones. You are an amazing human being with an amazing heart, and I am PROUD to be a member of your organization. With Love

Dear Ingrid: In all the languages I know, there are no words to truly define you. You go beyond commitment, loyalty, respect and love for the cause of animals and are a living example of what every activist should be. That is precisely what the enemies of our cause cannot stand. It is much easier for them to write despicable letters that only show what they truly are: an abusive and ignorant mob. We still have a long way to go in our fight for animal liberation but we have a true leader in front of us. The kind of leader that anybody would follow without questions or complaints. You are that leader and our inspiration. A true champion for the animals now and forever!

GOD BLESS PETA!!GOD BLESS INGRID!!! THIS KIND OF FILM IS VERY HARD TO WATCH BUT I FEEL WE ARE ALL BLINDED BY WHAT GOES ON IN THIS WORLD-IF WE DONT SEE IT, IT DOESNT BOTHER US, BUT AFTER WE SEE IT, WE THINK TO OURSELVES "HOW COULD THIS BE GOING ON". THATS WHY ITS IMPORTANT FOR US TO WATCH FILMS LIKE THIS BECAUSE WE WATCH THEM AND THEN WE BECOME ANGRY AND THEN WE FIGHT TO STOP IT AND THATS IMPORTANT AND WE MUST DO IT TO HELP THESE ANIMALS.... I'VE ALWAYS ATE MEAT AND AFTER WATCHING MEET YOUR MEAT, I STOPPED THAT INSTANT,AND BECAME A VEGETARIAN. I'VE BECOME A VEGETARIAN BECAUSE I DO NOT AGREE WITH HOW THE ANIMALS ARE TREATED AND KILLED..THANK GOD FOR PETA AND ALL THE WORK THEY DO TO HELP ANIMALS ON THIS PLANET BECAUSE NO ANIMAL DESERVES TO SUFFER..

I have great respect & admiration for Ingrid. There need to be many more films like this..! it shows the inhumanity & brutality & greed of our society which majority people tend to turn a blind eye too if they are not guilty of it. Please continue to bring the horrific acts of cruetly & greedy consumerism to the public eye. Its absolutely necessary. Great work & thank you!

If this film does not make a person have compassion towards animals, then nothing will. As a psychotherapist,I have had the unfortunate experience of working with clients who abuse and kill animals and express no remorse or feelings about taking the life of an animal. Even being in my field, it is hard to understand how anyone can be cruel and kill animals and call themselves a human being. I think this film should be shown to people like this, even those who are employed in a slaughterhouse. I feel Ingrid and PETA are the greatest advocates for animals, and I am proud to be a member! Thank-you again, Ingrid, for being an outstanding person and changing my eating habits as I cannot eat meat after viewing the film! You are wonderful and an inspiration as well as other PETA members! I started watching the program and sadly had to turn it off. It is so hard to watch. I cried after I saw a man stepping on a dogs head. that is when I turned it off. I don't know how people are capable of hurting like that. I'm sorry I couldn't watch the whole thing. I don't know how you do it!

I am a vegan and an ardent supporter of animal rights, and I have to say I was not impressed by the film. It did not do Ingrid or peta justice and did not accurately portray all of the serious, professional, great work that they do. I would not show the film to somebody new to animal rights issues. Rather, I would send them to the peta website and have them read the articles and watch all the informative movies, like meet your meat, and fur, wool and leather.

I'm a former vegan who thought it was brilliant, if not a bit bizzare- but in a very good way. I do believe firmly that eating meat is wrong, but I often find that I don't have the willpower to give it up completly. Nevermind the fact that I work for McDonald's, so I am faced with it on a day to day basis. :( Perhaps in the New Year...

May they be granted continued renewal, strength and the courage to fight for all animals, including "human-animals" who need education and mind liberation to understand that WE can, together, END ANIMAL SUFFERING!

I absolutely loved "I Am An Animal". I made my parents watch it so they could see what is going on to the animals in the world, and why I chose to be vegetarian. This video has helped me be more driven to help animals even more. Thank you so much for the documentary. Ingrid, I look up to you for the things that you believe in and stand up, your protests, how you get involved, etc. Great job.

it was very interesting..i think it portrayed Ingrid as being a tad eccentric not that its a bad trait to have.some of her antics were a bit {out there} but for a good cause...also i think it got the point across about animals...

i wish everybody would think like this! animals never hurt anyone unless someone hurt them, so why do we have to torture them? why can't we love them and treat them right? it's so sad...

The scale of the atrocities we inflict upon the most innocent of creatures is so enormous that very few of us (Ingrid excepted) are willing acknowledge it. We make excuses telling ourselves that there is nothing we can do about it. Or that what we do is only "natural". Or that "they" would only suffer and die anyway. After 40 years of eating meat I decided to become vegan. It was really very easy to do and surprisingly fun too. It also happens to be the best thing you can do for our own health, the health of the environment, and, of course, for the animals.

I think it was a moving flim. I have always loved animals and knew some of the pain they where going thru . The slaughter house are just horrible and this has made me think twice of who and where I buy from and slowly cutting meat and chesse out all together.

I watched the film with my dad, an avid meat-eater on Thanksgiving. He was appalled by PETA's exposes. After the film he said that he was considering gooing vegetarian. For current animal rights activists like myself, I think the film has restored a great amount of faith in Ingrid and PETA, and for the common individual, it is a powerful wake up call to the truth of the plight of animals that is unrivaled in it boldness.

Ingrid has always been very passionate and a voice for the voiceless. I worked for and with her many years ago out of the Washington DC Humane Society and I am still extremely pleased to have seen her still even today hard driven Ingrid I have always admired you for that compassion and that is why til this day my friends and family will say that girl treats her dogs like her kids and that's because they are my babies. Love you girl and all you do.

As hard as it was, I watched the film. I thought it was really well put together. It was interesting to see both sides point of view. I also work in the animal welfare industry and I think it is important for people to know just how horrible we are as a group to animals. I find it difficult to sleep many nights with the horrors I see at work almost everyday. When will it stop? When will people realize that it is NOT okay to hurt an animal in any way, shape or form? Thank you PETA for all you do. Good luck in your endless mission to better the lives of animals.

I think the movie was the most meaningful documentary i have watched to date. I think more such videos should be made becuase as with all other things the more we see such things the more we will think about it. I hope there will be more like her who will go to any lengths for animal rights.

The film definitely made me think. It made me cry, too. I didn't realize what went on...I can't get some of the images of those poor animals out of my head. This is my first visit to this website, but the film has made me a PETA supporter from now on.

Put simply, it prompted a lapsed vegetarian to return to an ethical diet again. The images of fur farms remains the worst image I have ever seen of torture and will now haunt me.

I AM AN ANIMAL is a balanced documentary detailing the many difficult aspects of PETA's investigative work and exposes on animal cruelty. It offers insight on the organization's impassioned leader, Ingred Newkirk, and shows her as the conscience of modern society.

If you could watch this movie and not break down into tears... you have no soul. It was truly a wake up call that really shakes you to your core. This movie should really be something shown in schools. I dont think i could ever see eating meat the same, i just keep seeing the pain these animals suffered and how horrible a life they recieved right up to their death which was equal as horrible. We title 3rd world country citizens as Beast and we cant even figure out how to treat mans best friend....... Truly heart-breaking

AMAZING! Ingrid, I was horrified and saddened at the disgusting email that you must receive on a regular basis. There is so much anger in these people and I don't know how you put up with it, day after day. It shows just how strong you need to be in order to do what you do. I wanted to let you know that I'm grateful for what you do each and every day. You are changing the world, one person and one animal at a time. I was unaware of the cruelty and never gave it much thought until I had recently watched another documentary. This movie has changed my life forever. I am now vegan and will never go back. Someone opened my eyes, and once I learned better, I did better. Thank you Ingrid, you are an amazing woman and your documentary will open many more eyes and help change many more souls. Thank you for all that you do, from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, Tanys

I LOVED this documentary! I greatly admire Ingrid Newkirk for all the work she does to help end animal cruelty. I have been a very proud vegetarian for 5 years and I'm so happy to see that this documentary has opened so many people's eyes to the horrors of animal abuse. Ingrid was very open and honest and was truly amazing! Go PETA!

It rassured me that a lot of people share the same hope of ending the horror and agony of poor defenseless animals. Especially when I see that famous people feel the same as I do.I wish more famous people would be more vocal and more visual and use their influence.

Wow...I was so impressed by this documentary...I support your work. I am involved in dog rescue and was amazed how that Pit knew you were there to help end his suffering. I agree that it is so much more humane to euthanize that to let suffer...Beautifully done film.

I loved the documentary! I am so glad to have seen it on HBO where so many people will view it. Of course the videos of animals suffering made me cry, but it's absolutely necessary for people to see this. It's the only way they will understand what animals endure for their frivolous desires. Thank you so much for making this!! I know some will not watch it because they turn a blind eye to animal abuse. It would be great to show this and other videos to school children where they are required to see it. Unfortunately compassion is often lost on adults. I particularly admire those who do the undercover work and actually obtain the video. It takes a special kind of person to carry that out. I could not work in an industry that kills animals and do the actual killing myself in order to investigate them. Kudos to those who can!

I thought this was an amazing documentary. Really eye opening. I happen to be a vegetarian, I was raised in a family raised on beef and pork, but after watching "I Am An Animal" my parents finally understand why it was important to me to stop eatting animals. Thank-you for showing the complete truth behind animal testing and inhumane slaughter houses

Growing up I wondered what I would do with my life. Since realizing my love of animals and living in a world of animal killers and animal eaters I feel so very sad and helpless and pessimistic. I wish I could sit down and talk with Ingrid. I would like to believe in God but as she said, how could there be one when this is our way of life? Has she ever considered consulting with Paul McCartney for ideas for PETA?

I watched the film with several boxes of tissue paper. It breaks my heart to see how cruel humans can be. Its people like Ingrid that gives me inspiration to make animal friendly decisions daily. This video is proof that we are blessed to have someone as kind as Ingrid and brave. What impresses me is how the negative comments just make her stronger. ANIMALS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Ingrid, I watched your video on HBO last night, it affected and touched me at the same time. You put some much work into making something known. I've never really liked meat, I only ate fish and poultry. But I'm going to not eat any meat. I'm a animal lover and if there is another source then we should make the right choice. Also I'm going to make myself more aware of the products I by that they are tested or made from animals. Every little bit helps :)

Ingrid gives me even more determination to spread the word. I do worry about some people making fun of her ways and not taking it seriously because of the strong method she uses. I agree with it but don't know if most people will listen instead of using her tactics as a way of looking the other way. I would love to here your feed back. Thank you Ingrid and everyone involved in her crusade.

I thought this flim, was so good.. I can't get enuf of it... I truly beleive that anyone and everyone should watch it, and maybe it will open a few peoples eyes to realize that pets are people with out voices, and we must do all that we can to help them survive, be sheltered, and get away from the evil and crulty of this world. I wish I was as strong as Ingrid.. she is a beautiful person with an even more beautiful soul. she truly is a voice for ones we dont or dont want to understand... thank you Ingrid for showing that not people are bad. I wish someday I will be half the person/woman/saint/voice you are.

Though she may call herself an atheist I must identify her as a great saint, a Bodhisatva sent to this planet to end the suffering of millions of beings. Having been a vegetarian for most of my 58 years I've struggled to express my conviction that the violence and cruelty we ingest poisons not only our bodies and mind and souls but also prevents our full expression and potential as compassionate and enlightened beings capable of transforming this world and this life. I adore you Ingrid and bow down at your lotus feet. All Beings are blessed by your divine presence and work! Sincerely, Maureen Rose Baker Dublin, Ohio

I AM AN ANIMAL -- very well put together. I hope it airs again so those who missed it can watch!! It's a filtly disgrace what animals have to go through [for human consumption..and other things],it's unnecessary. I've been without meat for a few months.. never again will I eat it. Although I will forever have those horrific visions of the videos (both on the website and from the movie) I do not regret forcing myself to watch them. I give Ingrid a lot of credit for what she does. It takes special people.. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for everything!!!

Ingrid is the BEST!! We need you to run for president, PLEASE!!!! I am sick of seeing a bunch of fat slobs sucking down a bunch of animals, but don't worry they will all get it in the end, with cancer or with other illnesses! I am a body builder and I do eat meat but I only shop at whole foods. I am trying hard not to eat meat though!!!!!!! : )

I thought the film was very informative and thought provoking. Unfortunately, I did not have the stomach to watch the animals being abused, so I had to keep switching channels back and forth. It was so sad - the abuse of both animals and the verbal abuse of Peta, and Ingrid herself, by non-supporters. Someone told me that this film just follows Peta's way - to shock and sensationalize. I was alarmed by this lack of care and insult to your organization so I had to respond that these shocking and sensational images are harsh reality and someone has to be the one to expose those atrocities. I have been a vegetarian for almost one year and an animal lover all of my life (I have 5 adopted dogs) and this film reinforced my drive and reassured me that I am living the right path. Many thanks to you for your enlightening film and your continuous crusade to protect the rights and lives of animals.
