Save The Seals

Hannah Teter's 'Save the Seals' Ad

U.S. snowboarder Hannah Teter comes from a close-knit family of shredders who spend a great deal of their time doing what they love in the snow and ice. So when the Olympic gold medalist learned about the seal slaughter that takes place every year on Canada's ice floes, she posed for PETA's "Save the Seals" ad series to help spread the word.

Giving a voice to those without one is something Hannah is known for. All the proceeds from her Vermont maple syrup company, Hannah's Gold, go to charity.

Hannah wants the world to know that tens of thousands of seals, many of whom are just weeks old, are bludgeoned or shot to death for their fur. During her photo shoot, Hannah told us, "[W]hen I saw that PETA was involved in saving the seals, I just was like, "YEAH!" That's something I want to be a part of because it's such a huge massacre."
