Animal Collective's 'Save the Seals' Ad for PETA
Since forming in Baltimore in 2000, Animal Collective has kept fans and critics happy with albums such as Strawberry Jam and Merriweather Post Pavilion. During their recent tour, members Brian "Geologist" Weitz, Noah "Panda Bear" Lennox, and David "Avey Tare" Portner posed for PETA's "Save the Seals" ad series to help spread the word about the tens of thousands of seals who are shot or bludgeoned to death for their fur each year.
During the photo shoot, Brian from Animal Collective told us, "I've learned … about the seal hunt through PETA's advertising campaigns … it's cruelty … that's the bottom line, and there's plenty of other things you can wear and there's synthetic furs."
