Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.

‘Win It’ Wednesday: Urban Decay Makeup

Written by PETA | March 2, 2011

Want to win a fresh spring makeover from PETA? We have three of Urban Decay’s top-selling vegan eye shadow palettes to give away—each one includes Urban Decay’s most popular neutral shades as well as spring-ready pops of color and the award-winning black eye pencil.

To enter, just tell us which celebrity you think could use a makeover of their views on animals and what fresh ideas they should listen to. The writers who give their celebrity’s ideals the most persuasive spring cleaning will win.

The contest ends on March 16, 2011, and the winners will be chosen on March 18, 2011. Be sure to read our privacy policy and terms and conditions, as you’re agreeing to both by commenting. Because of a mix-up with a supplier, the eye primer shown is not vegan, so it won’t be included.

No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law.

Good luck!

http://www.buzzfeed.com/melismashable/celebrities-eating-mcdonalds As to the link here, i think all these celeberties (and others that eat mcdonalds) Should try to go vegetarian or vegan, or heck, just eat some meat that’s abuse free ! It would help save the cute piggies and cows from being abused and eaten.

There are so many celebrities that don’t care and wear fur, which is WRONG Like: Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Sharon Stone, Rihanna, Paris Hilton, Kanye Wes, Jennifer Lopez Those celebrities have millions of fans all over the world who love them and look up to them and I think wearing fur and purchasing cruelty products would set a terrible example to the fans, because those fans adore them and if they are gonna see their idol use cruelty products pretty soon they’re gonna wanna do the same And that would be terrible because the fur that they’re going to wear was living, it was breathing, eating, moving, smiling, crying…..and who knows maybe it had a family.. kids that are now alone and need their parents while their parents are hanging in Mary Kate’s closet

  • Bee of the Bird says:

Someone needs to tell Paris Hilton that dogs are living creatures and NOT fashion accessories. It’s so frustrating to see her and hundreds of others emulating her by carrying around tiny dogs as if they were inanimate trinkets instead of thinking, feeling animals. Dogs deserve attention, exercise, and care–NOT to be stuffed into designer handbags!

The make-up famous companies make, Look nice but have far more at stake, For they cost the lives of many, trapped in cages tortured by, “Scientists” paid by your penny, Make-up on animals is a crime, It’s not worth any dime, So put your money to something good, PROTECT THE ANIMALS LIVELIHOOD.

  • Panther says:

I would say Lady Gaga , because she wore a whole dress made out of meat. She definetly needs a new make over. She needs to have new ideas about what to wear. (and what ton eat)

  • dawn walker says:

There are too many celebrities who need an attitude-toward-animals adjustment to choose one. Lady Gaga,Jennifer Lopez,Joan Rivers,Sarah Palin, that what’s-his-name figure skater, the list goes on. I don’t think there are any magic words to make them see the light.Nothing anyone has said has changed their minds. All compassionate people can do is live by example and hope the cold-hearts someday have an epiphany and warm up on their own.

  • Olivia says:

Rihhana:The fur she wears is so unnecesary and crule and its a shame because her songs are really good and lots of people look up to her.She should wear faux fir and pleather insted.

  • Saguaro says:

I would say Britney Spears: she has been through so much and has such a psycho media image (shaving her hair off, loosing her kids, being held at a hospital for a mental breakdown) and now with her new album dropping it is time for this lovely lady to do something rational and get a complete cruelty free make over! She is so talented and so beautiful – she could influence the world. I love Britney I just hope she gives up the fur, the meat, and the animal tested products <3

  • Sherri says:

Jennifer Lopez could definitely use a makeover on her views on animals. Fur is not for people to wear. There are plenty of clothing companies that make faux fur, and J. Lo being a designer herself, ought to know better. Let’s pose as fur traders to get a meeting with J. Lo, and then present her with graphic videos of what really happens to the animals enlaved and tortured for their fur.

  • akapoison says:

sarah palin.. she would wear a moose if she could..

  • Ivori says:

    Lady Gaga !

  • Fritz A. Dacquigan says:

It should be the owner/s of Saga Furs company. I don’t know his/her/their name/s but I think they are famous in the fashion world The company breeds animals which they later skin to get their fur. They should realize that people don’t need real fur just to look fabulous.

  • Paige Peak says:

Johnny Weir. You don’t believe in fake fur?? Like real fur that much? I bet the animals using it for survival love it even more.

  • Colleen says:

In my opinion, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen need a reality check on what they’re really wearing. Between the sheared mink jackets and fox vests, i don’t know which is worse. it might seem like glamour and fashion to them, but to me it seems like selfishness. I don’t think animal cruelty comes to mind when they go out and buy the “latest fashion trends”. it truely is a shame.

  • Ana A. Garcia says:

Eva Longoria: She is a vicious hunter that wears furs and other types of skins (leathers)and eats any type of animal. She glorifies killing animals and wearing them and eating them. She desperately needs a a heart.

  • Courtney says:

While Lady Gaga’s meat dress is impossible to not mention, I’m going to have to go with Jennifer Lopez on this one. She, or others, may claim a right to act as they chose on matters that we feel passionate about, however I believe when you so blatantly brand yourself as she has, it becomes even more profoundly important to act in a way which causes the least unecessary harm. This women not only gets constantly photographed draped in various forms of dead animals, but also has a history (I’m not sure if her clothing line still exists) of creating fur garments to sell to her often young fans, who may not yet be aware of the realities of the fur industry. It seems that in a time in which more people are banding together in order to stop injustices against animals and our planet, she seems intent on marketing the opposite of values. Not only as a mother, but also as someone who has been evident to hold clear compassion for those of human kind, I would hope that Ms. Lopez would prefer to market a more inclusive form of compassion to the generation looking up to her.

  • Melissa Perez says:

I think it should be Beyonce Knowles. She is a very talented artist and so many people look up to her. She is a beautiful woman inspiring curvy women to be proud of whom they are. But when she wears fur she is definitely sending out the wrong message. If she were to stop wearing fur (and making it for her clothes line) then many more women and teens will start to notice. Almost everyone loves Beyonce and her music; she seems like such a warm hearted person but when she wears fur she seems careless and cold hearted. Her music is inspiring and so can she, fur free.

  • Other Kat says:

Obviously Miss Lopez the furderer, she should start listening to the horror stories that come out of the factories that skin the animals she wears. And really, she could just use the information to find an even better style, can anyone say faux-leather?

  • TheresaF. says:

Rihanna. She’s such an influential musical artist with tons of talent that people can look up to. She had the courage to stand up for herself after being beaten by her celebrity boyfriend. Yet, why would a girl with such a seemingly good head on her shoulders be ignorant to cruelties such as wearing fur?? Doesn’t she know that violence breeds violence? A victim of violence such as Rihanna would be a perfect candidate to speak out against wearing fur and the violent nature behind it.

  • drz says:

Jennifer Lopez. She even wears mink eyelashes. She would look even more beautiful and gain more fans by giving up all fur and going faux because we would see her having beauty from the inside out.

  • labgirl74 says:

Lady Gaga. She is a hot new music star that promotes “Born this Way”. Well, animals could be put in the mix. All animals were born to do certain behaviors, have feelings, and want to live, just like humans. Gaga could support the extinction of animal cruelty on factory farms, where animals are unable to do any behaviors that they were born to do!

  • Carol says:

So many celebrities are out of touch with the real world that they have lost all compassion for the animals we share the earth with. If I could pick anyone to have a makeover of their views on animals it would be the ever-so-famous Michael Vick. His ignorance, inhumane, and selfish acts against animals makes me sick. The lack of compassion that man has is unreal, and it is a shame to see him walk away with such a terrible thing. As a lover of animals, I cannot imagine finding enjoyment in seeing animals suffer, fight, bleed, and become vicous beasts. My mother always told me “You can find a good man by the way he treats animals”, and frankly, it is quite obvious what kind of man Michael Vick is. Thank you.

  • Sonia says:

Kate Moss. She is a supermodel and a trend setting icon, so it hurts to see her wear fur in almost all of her outfits. She should try her pal’s Stella Mccartney’s store, plus her fiance is, or was, a vegan so I’m sure he would be pleased with a fur free Kate.

I HAVE AN ASSOCIATION IN THE ALPS IN FRANCE “LES CHALETS DES ANIMAUX DES 3 VALLEES”I SAVED THE WILD ANIMALS AND PETS AT 1600 METERS HIGH SO I LOVE FOXES THEY VISIT ME IN THE CHALET SO I SAY MADONNA WHO WEARS FUR SHOULD SIT IN A FACTORY IN NEDERLANDS OR ONE OF THOSE NORTHERN COUNTRIES WHERE THEY GREW VISONS ETC.I ALSO SAY THE BLACK RAPPER WHO WEARS LONG FUR COATS WITH SUNGLASSES,HE USED TO BE WITH J.LOPEZ ,I CANT PUT A NAME BUT YOU KNOW WHO IS IT… THOSE PEOPLE ARE OBNOSCIOUS AND MADONNA IS FRIEND WITH STELLA MC CARTNEY WHO HATES FUR SO I DONT UNDERSTAND.

  • holly says:

UM KANYE WEST, PLEASEEEEEEE. i’m sick of seeing him wear fur as a sign of being fashionable. Yes I wear fur, but it is FAKE and still looks awesome.

  • amdarose says:

Michael Vick for sure – not too long ago he said he is mad the courts wont let him have a dog for another 2 years! Are you kidding?! He should NEVER have another dog or any animal for that matter! Animals are not just convienences that can be mistreated or had just because you want one. Obviously someone learned nothing in jail!

  • Kat says:

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. They are ignoring pleas to stop wearing fur and using it in their fashion collection.Wearing dead animals isn’t flattering, no matter how skinny you are. There is just no excuse for wearing fur as “fashion” anymore. I do not believe in killing innocent animals for the purpose of looking good, when faux fur is so easily available. We need to take them for a tour through the fur farms they get their precious fur from.

  • KateeeL says:

Kanye West. He wears fur all the time and thinks that it is okay because “He’s a rockstar.” Well that doesn’t seem like a good enough reason for me. Someone needs to give him a makeover and show him what a real rockstar looks like, without wearing dead animals.

  • nancy says:

A lot of people are saying J. Lo needs to watch videos of how fur is obtained. She HAS watched these videos! Years ago PETA showed her the details and she sat to watch the videos. I read this. After she said she would continue to sell fur. (At the time she was selling clothes.) She is completely aware of what goes into fur. She severely lacks compassion.

  • nancy says:

I recently saw Oprah’s friend Gayle wearing real fur when she was on TMZ. With Oprah’s “spiritual” focus on her show it’s quite odd her best friend supports animals being skinned alive just for a collar and cuffs on her coat. She needs to go cruelty-free.

  • logos says:

KIM KARDASHIAN needs to stop wearing fur! She may be a bombshell on the outside but she’s a wretched animal-killer on the inside that needs to STOP.

  • Kat says:

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Both twins – if you can tell them apart – wear fur, carry fur bags and use fur in their fashion lines. Wearing a dead animal isn’t flattering, no matter how skinny you are. There is just no excuse for wearing fur as “fashion” anymore. They ignored pleas to stop wearing fur and are still using it in their fashion collection. Celebrities are a major influence on fashion, they are basically telling people that killing and wearing dead animals is ok, it’s not !

  • SarahLee23 says:

I’m going with Ozzy Osbourne. Although it was years ago, biting the head off of a bad is inhumane and repulsive. And to think he did it all for “show”…how unassumingly abusive and horrible.

  • maria says:

Jennifer Lopez. She is so beatiful and amazing…..

  • Susan says:

Sarah Palin: This gun-toting charmer loves nothing better than mercilessly hunting down and shooting majestic wolves and moose. She also has no qualms about cracking a whip over the collective straining backs of a dog sled team, and teaches her children fishing for salmon and killing them is entertainment. She even decorates her house with a genuine bear skin rug! I believe she needs to understand the beautiful state of Alaska and all of its’ bounties can be enjoyed without hunting, fishing, wearing/decorating with fur. She could be cajoled into believing that hunting animals for pure sport and using their fur for vain reasons is not politically correct any longer.

  • Patty says:

Arethra Franklin. She’s been living, knowingly and proudly, in the dark ages her entire adult life. She has been pleaded with and reasoned with, to no avail. She won’t change while she’s alive, but this makeup would make her look decent in her coffin.

  • Michelle Swain says:

Definitely John Galliano! His use of fur in fashion shows and his anti-Semitic slurs make him a perfect candidate for a makeover of views. People and animals should all be treated with respect and dignity. We all share this world together and don’t need the garbage talk and actions he has displayed. Mr. Galliano should take a page from cruelty-free designer Todd Oldham’s life!

  • Alana G says:

Kim Kardashian, she’s always wearing nasty fur… sick… just because she’s rich doesn’t mean she has to wear real fur… she can have a heart and wear faux fur. I wonder how Khloe feels about it since she did that PETA ad…?

  • Susan says:

While I hate to catagorize this person as a celebrity, I nominate Sarah Palin. This gun-toting, lipstick-wearing charmer loves nothing better than mercilessly hunting down and shooting beautiful wolves and moose. Has no qualms about cracking a whip over the straining backs of a dog sled team, teaches her children fishes for salmon and killing them is a fun sport. She has also been known to wear for and owns an authentic bear skin rug, upon which her children romp and play, with no apparant thoughts regarding the once grand animal who died to provide said skin. Sarah and her children could benefit from understanding animals do not have to suffer in order for her to look beautiful, or to enjoy the gorgeous state of Alaska, or to decorate her home.

  • Lori N. says:

Lady Gaga needs a makeover for her Meat Dress that made me sad and sick at the same time. Lady Gaga is a smart business wo,an and very liberal and progressive with her views on other issues relating to people, and she just needs some enlightenment when it comes to all living things.

  • metalmannequin says:

He’s not much of a celebrity but Utah republican state rep. Curt Oda proposed a bill to weaken anti-cruelty laws in order to allow citizens to “humanely kill” feral animals. I’m not sure if the bill was ever passed but it would have allowed anyone to shoot, club or even decapitate loose animals at will. What world does this guy live in? It’s bad enough that most animals in shelters will have to be euthanized but apparently some cruel people want to take it one step further.

  • dontx0xwait says:

Kat Von d. As much as I love her and her style, it makes me sad to see her wear so much leather. She has a new clothing line and I believe it has a lot of leather. As much as I would like to support her line, I just can’t bring myself to do it.

  • Arusa says:

Kim Kardashian should listen to her sister Kourtney who did a nude PETA campaign. Kim needs to drop the animals and look for aleternatives. Whats sad is many girls look to her for fashion yet she is wearing animals and this may encourage others to follow her. Kim needs a vegan makeover!

  • fiorella says:

i think it would be Eva Longoria. shes proud to wear fur , wich is disgusting. and she also states, “I can skin a deer and a pig and a snake – and rabbits.”. what more is there to say

  • Susana says:

Paris Hilton. Because she uses her puppys as acessories and uses fur clothing. Many young girls see her as a role model, and she needs to change her atittude and be an example for girls. Many celebreties do this, all of them need to change, for the well beeing of all animals and our youth.
