Vivisector of the Month—Dr. Janet Neisewander

Written by PETA | April 27, 2012

Here is some of the hideous handiwork of April’s Vivisector of the Month, Janet Neisewander of Arizona State University, who has been conducting wasteful and cruel addiction experiments on animals since 1984.

Using nearly $3 million in taxpayer money, Neisewander gets rats hooked on drugs like morphine, cocaine, and nicotine—sometimes after obliterating parts of the rats’ brains with acid.

In these pictures, the rats have nicotine pumped directly into their jugular veins through tubes implanted in their heads. Later, they’ll be killed and decapitated and have their brains removed.

How You Can Help Animals Killed in Nicotine Experiments

Thanks to studies in humans, we already know that smoking cigarettes can cause disease in nearly every organ of the human body. Please tell the National Institutes of Health to stop funding nicotine experiments on animals and use tax money for prevention, education, and human-based research instead.

Animal experimentation/vivisection is medical and scientific fraud. Millions of animals are tortured and murdered every year under the guise to find the so called “cures”. These humans are sadists, evil, greedy psychos who are wasting tax dollars with their pseudo-research. Animal experimentation/vivisection is a multi-billion dollar industry. It’s all about greed. Vivisectors are human filth and deserve to be the recipients of their brutal experiments. Fatal justice to all of them!

You didn’t even hear the worst of it. This research is supposed to give insight to why young adults are more likely to smoke longterm if their first experience was with peers….. how does this tell you anything about it?!?!?! First of all these animals have the nicotine going directly to their blood so it is impossible to test their stupid theory of peer pressure overriding the negative effects of the first smoking experience… they are not smoking!!! They do not cough!! This was the main part of their theory and it isn’t even relevant. I had to sit through a presentation about this disgusting experiment. The girl told us that these “adolescent” rats usually live ten days before they rip out their catheters and die….

  • Lynn Anderson says:

A mentally healthy person is not capable of this.

  • Melanie says:

Money is truly the root of all evil. This horrid doctor and all the others like her should be ashamed of themselves.

  • paula says:

She must be Dr Josef Mengele reincarnated. She is a heartless monster!

  • Irene Leggett says:

Why is money still being given to these type of ‘experiments’ and to these un-feeling, heartless, soul-less so-called doctors? While they are given this obscene amount of funding, they will actually NEVER proclaim a cure for any major disease as this bottom-less pit of money will then cease and how can we have all these so-called caring doctors, big pharmaceutical companies and lab workers out of a job?? Think about it!!!

  • Ann says:

This is disgusting. How can this woman sleep at night. She is total slime.

  • James Thomson says:

Most of their research on animals is unnecessary and/or useless. The world does not need this sort of research and certainly not this sort of scientist.

  • Anna says:

Congratulations Janet! You must be proud to call yourself a Doctor, all the work you do!

  • Lauren mabe says:

This is cruel and should therefore stop.

  • Rex's Mom says:

Whoever said that women are the gentler sex was really wrong in this case. This woman is nothing but a sadistic, cruel, nasty, piece of worm ridden slime! No offense to the worms!

  • Siraganda says:

These hideous experiments shall go on until animal protection groups shall ask airlines not just to refuse the transportation of primates to laboratories – but the transportation of ALL animals! And it will continue as long as there are great ape protection acts – which are just protecting great apes and no other animals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
