We already loved Kathy Freston for her wonderful books, Quantum Wellness and The Quantum Wellness Cleanse, which promote a vegan diet as part of a healthy lifestyle. (Even Oprah tried the cleanse!) Now we have yet another reason to love Kathy: Her animal-friendly fashions have earned her a spot in Vanity Fair‘s 2009 International Best-Dressed List.

And that’s not all. Kathy also defines her personal style as “cruelty-free” and her cause as “animal protection.” Favorite shoes? Why, Stella McCartney, of course!

“Best-dressed” Kathy Freston is yet more proof that nobody has to die for fashion. Just wait—I’m sure we’ll see a whole slew of cruelty-free fashion mavens on 2010′s list.

THESE are the type of celebrities who are worth celebrating. Never mind the cold callous dimwits who flaunt leather and fur. Sarah Jessica Parker comes to mind. I’m tired of all these silly vacuous vain selfserving heartless twits being set up on pedestals that they don’t deserve to be on. We need more people like Kathy Preston in the public’s eye. It’s too bad Oprah didn’t get it while she had the chance. Who could learn what she learned and then CHOOSE to engage in animal cruelty again? The minute I learned the truth I became veg. And that was that period. 1982 was the last time I ate the flesh of a land animal. Fish has been more of a back and forth thing. Well shrimp anyway. But I digress. Kathy? YOU ROCK GRRRRL!!!!

It is sooo easy to find crueltyfree fashions nowadays. Years ago it was a real chore but now there is so much to choose from! I love Kathy!

Linda McCartney would be so proud of Stella McCartney who has wondrously advanced her Mother’s humane worldview with class and style.
