Value All Life–Go Vegan, PETA Urges OK After Hobby Lobby Ruling

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to allow Hobby Lobby, an Oklahoma City business owned by people with strong religious convictions, to refuse to pay for insurance that covers emergency contraceptives for its employees, PETA is attempting to place its thought-provoking “Killed at 7 Weeks” billboard in the city.

PETA hopes people who value life will also save chickens and other animals by choosing vegan foods. Like us, chickens are made of flesh, bone, and blood. They form strong family ties and mourn when they lose a loved one. And yet billions of chickens are killed for their flesh every year. The birds are only a few weeks old when they’re sent to the slaughterhouse, where they’re shackled upside down, their throats are slit, and many are scalded to death.

PETA wants people on both sides of the birth control and abortion debates to make the compassionate choice and try tasty vegan foods.

    Since Hobby Lobby wants to play the religion card, please remind those hypocrites that “thou shalt not kill.” They sell leather and fur products and who knows what else that violate their 10 Commandments.

    A very thought provoking Billboard. I believe if more people actually knew the pain that the animal went through to provide them food, many people would start to look for more humane and healthful alternatives
