Sneak Peak: Elisabetta Canalis Nude Photo Shoot

Written by PETA | May 5, 2011

Italian model, actor, and George Clooney’s leading lady Elisabetta Canalis has just shot a new anti-fur ad for PETA, which she calls “the best reason why I got naked in my life.”

Canalis says that her opposition to cruelty to animals started when she was very young. “I was a kid, a little girl, and was watching TV at home and they showed a documentary. And in the documentary I saw how they killed little animals, like electrocuting them, drowning them, bludgeoning them. I was shocked because I was a little girl, but by that moment I thought that I would never, never, never wear fur in my life.”

Canalis’ ad is slated to launch in the fall, but you can catch a sneak peak in this behind-the-scenes video from her PETA photo shoot.

  • Kate says:

When a person wears fur it sums up the person they really are: Cruel, selfish and totally ignorant. No one wants a person like that in their lives. Unfortunately the poor innocent animals and our planet has to suffer because of their selfish existence.

  • marita dolne campos says:

  • Dan Bekkering says:

Very good and as you can see people are an animalspecies too, the same muscles, the same tendons, nerves, skin, fur, blood and bones and emotions wishing for the beest. In case of this lady all packed together in a very nice package. You wouldn’t want to think of her being kept in small confinement to be raised as a subject transported to a slaughterhouse for others to consume. Go veg and stay healthy in the same time saving the planet from overconsumption.

  • Jaroslav says:

Major problem is monstrous breading and keeping those animals in meat producing factories, so called industrial farms, jammed whole life in one spot, without chance to move, feeding them with any garbage processed as cattle food, then sadistically buchering them specially muslim way so called HALAL where their neck is only slashed and they bleed to death in horrible pain for hours.

  • Rina Deych, RN says:

  • 'Great White' (Shark: Beings Rights Person) says:

I could not agree more, with those that are complaining that she is using products made from beings’ skins; Of course, that is given what the complainers said about her true.

  • 'Great White' (Shark: Beings Rights Person) says:

I am glad she got involved; however, she should have got involved, without using her nake self, sexist and working to weakiest mind among us, and she is sexy?? I know we all have different degrees and definitions of sexiness; but come on.

  • sue says:

I do not totally understand all the politics behind these issues ( after last comment) and the media responses and support. I believe we all need to work together and stop any kind of animal cruelty. I have 3 house cats who I wont let out for fear of being hit by cars, cruel people or those who steal animals for testing.. Please keep all animals safe Sue xxx

I think that she is a great spokesperson and PETA is blessed to have her. BTW, to those who call her “idiotic,” they might learn to be spellers and gain a better understanding of grammar before they refer to her or anyone else as being “idiotic.”

  • Nexso says:

I hope she doesn’t this only for her reputation. She shows her body in very spots and tv shows. Nothing about good cause. Or this is it what I have seen in tv. Yes, I’m italian.

  • barbara says:

Grazie Elisabetta, ce ne fossero di personaggi pubblici (passami il termine) che si mettono in gioco ignorando eventuali critiche…anche da questo si vede lo spessore di una persona(e non da come ci si atteggia in un palcoscenico). BRAVA DAVVERO.Barbara – Toscana –

  • debera says:

    BRAVO……..

  • Kim says:

to’animal lover’ – animal fur and hide are two dofferent things and two different industries – do your homework….

  • Barbara says:

True, too bad she walks around with leather bags like in this pic: http://bags.stylosophy.it/articolo/elisabetta-canalis-con-hobo-salvatore-ferragamo/16895/ I think when she talks about fur, she only refers to fur coats, not all animals’ skin :(

  • teengirvn says:

Excellent idea. Thanks for Elisabetta Canalis and Peta!

  • Pierpaolo says:

And few days later the idiotic Canalis is seen wearing fur in London! PETA get your act together, don’t you check on your “odels” before putting them on billboards? You’re loosing credibility left, centre and right! SHAME

  • RoryReloaded says:

It would be nice if PETA was credible.

  • animal lover says:

I find this campaign with Elisabetta Canalis quite a joke. I’m thinking PEta does not look into the models who represent them. This girl claims she has been upset since childhood because the cruelty to animals, however if Peta would look into this they would see that Ms. Canalis carries MANY LEATHER handbags that are in the range from $2000.00 – $4000.00. What she is not upset about what the companies had to do to make her leather bags. I think if Peta would look into this spokesmodel they would realize she is trying to start a movie career here in the U.S. and by posing nude in Italy that is how she gained fame there. If you look she posed nude for anyting she could, including as a nun and many calendars. She is using Peta to further her career and if they can’t figure that out shame on them. IF this campain goes through I will end my association and the monthly allowance I give to Peta. I believe in you and what you do for animals I will rethink this if you allow this campaig to go through. Thank you.

  • mino says:

Elisabetta Canalis is a great animal advocate – also in Italy! Thank you Elisabetta – for standing up for the animals!
