Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.

Pro-Life? Then Let Animals Live

Written by PETA | April 15, 2010

On Tuesday afternoon, Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman signed into law a bill banning abortions after 20 weeks of gestation based on the belief that fetuses can feel pain at that stage. He also signed another bill requiring women to be screened for mental health problems before having abortions.

No matter where you stand on abortion, we hope that you appreciate the billboard that we’ll be erecting in Lincoln, Nebraska, to remind everyone that electing not to take animals’ lives is always a sane choice.

Pro-life

Great ad. Just LOVE IT! You should sell some bumper stickers and tshirts. Let’s do it in spanish too.

  • Laura says:

Excellent ad! I wish it was available on teeshirt or bumper sticker too! I’m all for being a walking advocate for animals!

  • Edgar says:

I’m strongly pro life 98 of abortion are not done for medical reasons is wrong end the life of any living thing without a real need i’m also against death penalty and all form of entairtement who involve the suffering of an animal

  • Christine says:

As a prolife person who knows many prolife people I think this billboard WILL make them stop and think. To me it’s a natural progression. I think it’s a great ad. Anything that get’s people thinking about cruelty to animals that is a good thing. Until I was awakened to it I never thought twice about the meat on my plate.

  • Aaron says:

ya know i’m sure this comment is going to be moderated out but animals are not ours to cage as pets. How can you consider yourself kind to animals if you keep them indoors against their nature?

  • Fabiana says:

I complet agree with kalpana. Im not much “prolife” more anti abortion. I’ve been living in Spain for 2 years and lately a great national argue is being shownd up here between the “prolife” team and the “taurian” team. Oh my I cant understand why both thing respecting human lives and animal lives has alway to be separeted. Let’s stop torturing animals but also let’s stop killing children with so many aborts!!!! By the way PETA is doing a great job. I’m amazed how companies are starting to get worried about what PETA knows about hurting and torturing animals!!!! Great!!!

  • Alayne says:

I would love to see this as a bumper sticker. How about it PETA?

  • Holly G. says:

Thank you! This is a great way to approach people that assume a crueltyfree lifestyle means that they have to be liberal and prochoice as well. If its crueltyfreeif can include human pregnancies!

  • Gina says:

I love this AD! How totally cool! I’m pro choice but this is a classic! Way to go PETA!

  • Brien Comerford says:

No more killing of God’s unborn human fetuses and no more killing of God’s creatures. It’s morally consistent ! Great and evocative AD by PETA.

  • MeowMixx says:

I love this. I never understood how people can be so passionately protesting against abortion and then go home to eat some eggs. human logic fail! haha.

  • Aitor says:

Im not a religious person but shouldnt these be commandments? I know most of you are familiar with them… Animals Are Not Ours to Eat Animals Are Not Ours to Wear Animals Are Not Ours to Experiment On Animals Are Not Ours to Use for Entertainment Animals Are Not Ours to Abuse in Any Way

  • Toby Saunders says:

I appreciate it! Anti abortionrights supporters in America tend to be that way because of Christianity so I doubt a bill board will sway many of them away from their churchs’ teachings maybe some young people whom haven’t been abused as much as older people will be persuaded.

  • Aneliese says:

I’m not prolife either but I bet this guy who wants to ban abortions because fetuses can “feel pain” eats dead animals and doesn’t care about THEIR pain.

  • Ben McA says:

I love this! I’m not prolife I’m more “antiabortion” then anything as I’m for the death penalty but this doesn’t bring anything in with politics! I love it PETA! It’s awesome!

  • anna says:

Awesome! I live in Lincoln can anyone tell me where this billboard will be?

  • kalpana dangi says:

I love animals small or big. Animals are the most precious gift of nature. They are not here to be tortured or for our experiments ro for our entertainment. With increasing human population we are loosing animals very rapidly. Ban in California is differentabortion is banned after 24 weeks.
