Pro Golfer Phil Mickelson’s Shocking Announcement

Written by PETA | August 11, 2010

Phil Mickelson, the world’s second-ranked golfer, recently stunned his fans by announcing that a) he’s been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, a debilitating inflammatory disease of the joints and tendons that left him in so much pain that he could barely move, and b) he’s turned to a mostly vegetarian diet to help ease the symptoms of his arthritis—and it’s working!

How is Phil feeling about his new diet? “I’ve eaten some great stuff,” he said. “Foods that I have always avoided I get to eat and it’s been good.” Here’s hoping that Phil’s arthritis doesn’t give him any more trouble—and that the golf great keeps birdies on the course and off of his plate.

the vegetarian choice is surely helping to avoid many bad diseases anyhow it left me to feel a bit heavy because i ate too much dairy products but now i switched on vegan and i feel much lighter somehow as i would have wings or so! it’s amazing!

Hey Phil I’m glad that your “mostly vegetarian diet” is helping to ease the arthritic symptoms! It’s no fun living in pain. However it’s too bad that a lot of us require a medical wakeup to get us eating in a manner that we are already know is healthful and compassionate. Let’s hope your story inspires others to eat as you stated foods that were previously always avoided but you now get to eat. Yummy stuff eh?!

Phil’s a class act and always has beenon and off the course. I wish him the best and am glad his veg diet is part of his recovery. This is great news for animalsa true leader in his game taking this step and his abilities won’t decline. He might drop a few of his extra pounds and have a little more left by the end of the round too.

he should make an appointment with Dr Guo at Liferising.com he is an amazing TCM doctor in Chicago on Archer Avenue. That arthritis will be gone in no time and he will be back to play golf again no problem.
