PETA’s Anti-Seal Slaughter Ad: Coming to a Bluetooth Near You

Written by PETA | February 12, 2010

Because TV stations in Victoria, British Columbia, have rejected PETA’s anti–seal slaughter public service announcement, we’ve decided to go mobile with our campaign by placing a Bluetooth transmitter outside three of the city’s high schools. The transmitters will automatically send PETA’s ad to students’ phones (and those of lucky passersby) to educate them about the imminent seal massacre that continues to tarnish Canada’s reputation.

The upcoming extra-curricular activity comes just a week before tens of thousands of young seals are scheduled to be slaughtered in the name of “fashion.” Join the compassionate people who have already called on the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic Games to use its clout to help save the seals.

  • Jay says:

Owl during the olympics the whole world is watching at Canada and many don’t know what is going on behind the games. They need to be informed. While they are watching the sports hunters arrange the brutal seal slaughter. Canada has to stop it!!

  • Taylor says:

My Freind and I have been getting the word out. I’m only 13 and we have protested everywhere we can… Lately we have been making flyers for the the school as well as posters. We will save the seals!

  • owl says:

The olympic games have nothing to do with seal slaughter. I don’t know what’s the point of you associating the two to stop seal slaughter.

  • Marnie says:

It’ makes me happy to read this the season begins and the people have to wake up! Greedy ignorant brutal slaughter. The hunters are hiding behind their “traditions” but the times have changed. They try to force the world to buy seal products and use the argument of overpopulation to play it down. Selfish excuse! But the people are not that dumb show the video show pictures and inform everyone. Who wants to buy “blood fur”?

  • Jay says:

Fantastic idea! Everyone should watch this and think about the poor seals!

  • Robb says:

Everyone looks away and thinks that they are only animals but they could never see anyone do it to dogs. People are biased and blind.

Candy I too have grown up hearing about this as a child and into my adult years. Isn’t it insane how this barbaric act is STILL being practiced today? It just boggles the mind. Sad fact that most people DO NOT CARE about animals and certainly don’t care about their rights. It is my personal belief that the kindness respect and dignity a person shows toward an animal reflects how they treat their fellow humankind.

Lets hope with the world focus on the winter olympic’s this campaign will get noticed more. How can they do this to such defenceless adorable animals. Even they deserve basic rights. Shame on you Canada! I thought the day of such cruelty that I remember hearing as a child 20 yr’s ago was well and truely over. Get with the times Canada and get your act together.
