PETA VP Responds to Critics on HLN

Written by Michelle Kretzer | March 1, 2012

A front group for the meat, puppy mill, tobacco, and alcohol industries as well as other industries that use and abuse animals is desperately trying to thwart animal protection efforts by publicly attacking PETA. The group got its comeuppance on Jane Velez-Mitchell’s show Monday night, when the HLN host invited PETA Senior Vice President of Communications Lisa Lange to talk about the deceptive group’s underhanded attacks. Here is some of the interview:

If the meat, dairy, puppy mill, and entertainment industries and their shills were genuinely concerned about the plight of homeless dogs and cats, they would actually do something about it, as PETA is, by conducting massive spay-and-neuter initiatives and encouraging people to adopt animals from animal shelters instead of buying them from businesses that churn out new puppies and kittens to add to the mix.

Great job PETA! -Thanks Jane for having them on!

  • Anna Fiona says:

Thank you for speaking up. The VP handled herself very well. It was vital that a reputable, high level official addressed this issue. These attacks have been going on for years. Things are really heating up now though, it is going to get ugly across the board.

  • Rachel says:

THe group that attacks Peta is a lobbyist for puppy mills and AKC. AKC makes most of its money from puppy mill registrations, and attacks humane groups that support puppy mill regulation. AKC supports animal abuse.

I actually had an argument with an old classmate of mind about this very subject. He kept claiming PETA was corrupt and all for the publicity because you guys had to put down 95% of animals, and I had told him, “Most of the animals they take in are either suffering from a crippling disease, abused beyond saving, or are too aggressive to adopt out. That’s why the numbers are so high, if you go to their webpage you’ll see photos of the condition of the animals they had to take in and you’ll understand why they were euthanized,” but he wasn’t having any of it.

I’m so glad JV-M allowed Lisa L on her show so she could explain why animals have to be euthanized sometimes. i am forever hearing PeTA ha8ers using this as an argument against them.
