We the People Can Help Dogs and Cats

The White House is launching a new site where citizens can post petitions, and if a petition gets 5,000 signatures in 30 days, it will be reviewed by Administration officials and receive a response. This is a great opportunity to help animals, so PETA will be posting a petition asking for mandatory nationwide spay/neuter regulations in order to put a stop to the tragedy of animal homelessness, and we need your help!

Please go to the site right now and sign up to be alerted when it goes live. When that happens, find our petition, called “Stop Animal Homelessness at Its Roots,” and sign it. Then get everyone you know to sign it too.

The media has already shown interest in this, so if we can grab the lead, not only can we put this life-or-death issue on the national agenda, we’ll also get it in front of the American people—and America’s animals will be the winners!

  • Judith Lehel says:

It is a no-brainer to spay and neuter animals so that the world won’t be inundated by homeless, neglected animals. Money is not the most important thing in the world, reproducing all the pure breeds just condemns the ones who need the help. They are so grateful for any care and love, please, please spay and/or neuter your animals and stop the breeding!

This is great to cut down on dog’s and cat’s born. But let’s look at the people that live in places that charge pet deposit’s, Even a rent for their pets. They are charged an extra $15 dollars a month. then a only given half of the deposit back with no damage to the dwellings. This stop pet lovers from adopting. I have two dogs and it cost $800 for deposit and have to pay an extra $30 a month. Things like this also causes homelessness.

Dear Humans everywhere, As you maybe know, birth control and regulation is becoming more and more practised (world wide!). This is great for us humans, we can decide whether to have babys or not, and when we want to have them. We can prevent lots and lots of diseases this way, and regulate the overpopulation (and all the problems that go with it). So… if birth control is normal… no, OBVIOUS for You and me, why don’t we make it OBVIOUS for our pets too?

We need STIFFER penalties for this problem for many reasons. One is because of the overpopulation. unfortunately we do not have welfare to help support unwanted pets like we do people. And also this may help decrease the abundance of BAIT DOGS that these worthless freaks use to train their dogs for dogfighting rings.PENALTIES and JAIL time need to be enforced for this. ANIMALS are every bit as important as people. Please take this into consideration. We need to stop all these pets from dying unnecessarialy. THANK YOU!

  • susan Call says:

It should also be free, or at least low cost. Many vets charge $300 to $400 to spay a small dog. I only know of spay/neuter clinics that perform low costs surgeries in Richmond. Of course the vets complain, I call it greed.

  • JudyCat says:

Homeless animals are the result of careless people who don’t spay and neuter their pets. We need mandatory national spay/neuter regulations to stop this tragedy. Please work to enact these, for the sake of sweet homeless pets. Thank you.

  • Julie says:

This is the only way to bring euthanasia to an all time low, It will lower needless suffering and bring attention to those individuals who are breeding animals for cruel intentions such as dog fighting, and gang related issues. It will allow officials to ticket or question those who are breeding and may bring attention to individuals who have cruel intent.
