Oprah: ‘That Better Be Faux!’

Oprah

Here’s one more reason why I heart Oprah.

Yesterday, during her fall fashion style makeover show, a stylist mentioned that a furry vest worn in one woman’s “after” look was faux. Oprah replied, “I was a PETA Woman of the Year so I hope that’s faux!”

From celebrating vegan cuisine with Chef Tal Ronnen to airing an in-depth investigation of the cruelty of puppy mills, Oprah never hesitates to remind millions of television viewers to consider animals in their everyday lives.

I am always happy to see when a celebrity of her magnitude sheds light on animal cruelty now if more people would just see how wrong it is to abuse animals this world would be so much better off.

I haven’t like Oprah since she supported KFC recently. That’s good about the faux fur though.

  • jackie says:

Keep it going oprah if we were to wear fur we would have been born with it…yah OPRAH

  • Pamela Ernest says:

If she would just go Vegan full time..she wouldn’t have that weight problem. Then she’d be the perfect human speciman.

  • NT says:

I saw that show and was so proud of Oprah! We all know Oprah has a huge influence in what her viewers do remember the Texas hamburger law suit? so I am hoping her message got thru and her fans will only shop for “faux” fur from now on.

  • Jessica Keckhaver says:

Yay Oprah! Way to use your show as a way to show people that faux is the way to go!

  • Bluebell says:

Go Oprah! Only weak shallow and cowardly women would advocate wearing real fur.

  • David says:

BUT Oprah DOES support Rodeos and complimented rodeos in her show a while back… the cruelty in rodeos is horrific. But still cool move Oprah.

  • Brien Comerford says:

Oprah Winfrey is a very openminded person who is gradually and rightfully being inspired by animal rights causes.

  • Rex's Mom says:

Wow! What a change around for Oprah! I remember reading years ago that she would give her friends real fur coats for Christmas birthdays. etc. I also saw a picture of her in the paper with her new pet an ADOPTED cocker spaniel! I rarely watch her show but she’s OK with me!

  • Chris says:

Not a fan. She does shows about the horrors suffered by animals on farms and yet she still eats meat. It’s kinda like having an seal hunt protest while wearing a fur coat.

  • carla says:

You go Oprah! Class act unlike some woman aka hags.. who continue to wear dead animals. So Lame!
