Octomom, Eight Is Too Many (So Is Seven, Six, Five …)

Written by PETA | March 23, 2010

It seems like everybody has an opinion about “Octomom” Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to eight babies last year. No matter where you stand on that decision, starring in porn isn’t Suleman’s only option to remedy the recently rumored foreclosure proceedings on her home in La Habra, Calif. In fact, PETA is offering to bolster her finances by paying to place an ad on her front lawn:

Octomom ad

Massive media attention is aimed at covering Octomom’s every move, and it’s time to put that attention to good use. After all, Americans need to know that millions of dogs and cats end up in animal shelters every year, and half of them are euthanized simply because there aren’t enough good homes. Countless other homeless dogs and cats suffer on the streets—dodging cars, enduring attacks by other animals and cruel humans, and suffering from disease and starvation. People need to know that the solution to so much of this suffering couldn’t be simpler: Spay or neuter your animal companions.

After all, however one might feel about Octomom, I think we can all agree that for puppies and kittens, one litter is one too many.

Well there are quite a lot of cats here also sheltered ones but i have never seen a street dog in finland.

  • Kushagra says:

PETA pays many people to publicize their causes. Don’t consider our donations going to the woman but consider it as another payment for one of the many posters bye PETA. After all it is for public awareness and i think would greatly help the cause

  • Deborah says:

I agree with David. I am concerned about PETA spending money to support this woman. I don’t think our donations should be used to pay anyone’s mortgage.

  • Manic Monkey says:

Somebody should of ripped out Octomom’s genitalia a long time ago.

  • Melissa Schlechter says:

I agree wother comment that it is nauseating that someone who produces a “litter” of children would get accolades for it.

  • Rad_Rosa89 says:

That lady made me sick with having so many babies! Ugh!

  • Shari says:

We need that here is San Antonio Texas. Please put that on a billboard! At least on a poster! I know lots of people that would do a demo with that! You all are so clever! Love it!

  • Danny says:

    lol I love it!

  • dillon says:

a very clever ad on peta’s behalf. Already saw this story on the front pages of major news websites. But I didn’t actually think octomom would actually accept the offer!

  • carly Chichester says:

I am divided about this. On the one hand I think the sign is a great idea. Too bad it wasn’t TAPED to “octomom’s” foreheard a long time before she had her litter. On the flip side I am angered at having my dues go to save this deadbeat’s rearend! Let her save herself and insteadspend the money directly on the animals who need it MUCH more than this kook does! SHE doesn’t deserve it! Why does everyone continue to bail this idiot out of situations she has created because she’s a sick weirdo who can’t seem to find the fame she so desperately has been seeking!

  • Lydia says:

All the children should be adopted out and “octo mom” should be placed in a mental institution!! There should be a law to sterilize women like her. Peta must be insane to buy into octo mom’s situation. It will only encourage other irresponsible people to have too many children.

  • David says:

Is anyone concerned about PETA spending money to support this woman? Yes attention grabbing…but will it have an impact? That is a lot of donations going to a person many see as irresponsible.

  • Michael says:

    Good on ya!

  • Jennifer says:

Hah! I love it. I’ve often thought the spayandrelease program that works so well to control animal overpopulation should be expanded…

  • Kim B. says:

Where can I get that great ad in a bumper sticker?!?!

  • Ellen says:

I can’t imagine what her insides look like. Same with the reality show of the couple that has 18 kids and she is pregnant again. UGH

  • donna kintsche says:

I can’t believe someone would have that many kids and not be able to support them its one thing to have 4 kids and be struggling but trying your best buts its another thing to have 14 kids and not be able to support them.

  • NT says:

In this day and age it is irresponsible and selfish to have that many children.

  • Landon Hill says:

Great idea!!! With all the news coverage this ad would go to millions of people.

  • Aneliese says:

Love this ad PETA! Some humans should be spayed or neutered as well! cough Nadya Suleman cough

  • cindy haas says:

I always found it nauseating that any womam would have that many babies and then to get all the publicity is even more sickening. Thanks Cindy Haas
