Is Mayor Bloomberg a Veg Head?

Magic 8-Ball says, “Outlook good.”

According to a recent piece in the New York Post, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg paid a visit to Morton’s Steakhouse in downtown Brooklyn, “but refrained from eating any meat and was ‘strictly vegetarian.’”

Think Bloomberg has been talking to our friend Chris P. Carrot? Chris P. and Bloomberg are both politicians fighting to make our planet a little greener, so it only makes sense that they would run in the same circles—or at least run into each other occasionally. I know Chris P. hasn’t won any elections (yet), but there’s no denying that the guy’s full of great advice on the green front. Bloomberg might be paying attention to Chris P. when the über-tuber says that going vegetarian is one of the best things that we can do for the environment.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up just because of one incident. Bloomberg stands behind the horse carriage industry here in new york so he is not on MY favorite list of people. I don’t believe that he is a vegetarian at all. As far as the comment about politicians being vegetarians we do have Dennis Kucinich who really should be our president!

  • Jenna Williams says:

Finally someone in the government that actually cares! Thank you! Obama wouldn’t do anything like this but a MAYOR can?!?!? We need a change. If this mayor has the…guts to do this then im pretty sure the president should. But heyit’s all about imgage i guess. Animals are more important if you ask me.

I’m quite sure he’s Jewish i.e. wouldn’t observe the dietary restrictions of Good Friday. But in any event vegetarians mustn’t patronize such establishments no matter how veg. may be your order your $$$ is headed into the coffers of our enemy.

  • Justine says:

Lots of celebs are vegan or vegetarian but it would be great if there were some politicians embracing the veggie movement!

  • Brien Comerford says:

I doubt if Bloomberg is a vegetarian. He is a good Mayor and proactive environmentalist. Making NYC more green and pristine.

Yes Mortons’s has a lot of options for Vegns!! I went to Morton’s last Saturday for a friends birthday and had a wonderful meal of a Chopped Salad hold the egg and bacon garlic sauteed green beans sauteed spinach and mushrooms and a baked potato. And there were more options than that. More otions there than most restaurants
