Hurricane Ida Won’t Stop Us

Written by PETA | November 12, 2009

Rain from Hurricane Ida is bearing down hard on us here in Norfolk, Virginia. And while we have recently been alerted that the post office might not be delivering our mail, (whatever happened to “rain or shine,” guys?) at PETA, we don’t let a little inclement weather keep us from saving animals!

Our dog park and the front of our building are lakes.
Check out Roe, who helped all of us make it into the office.

We hope that everyone is keeping their furry friends warm and safe inside today. Check out PETA’s tips for safeguarding animals during a hurricane and always be sure that you’re prepared when a bit of weather comes your way!

Elphaba Shari I hate saying it but Mel is right Ida wasn’t a hurricane when it hit land and was very briefly classified as such while in the ocean. The reason I know this is because I live in the area where it was predicted to land and followed it very closely. Now as far as rainfall yes it’s plainly obvious that Virginia got it. However it’s rainfall from the aftermath of a tropical storm not a hurricane.

Seriously Mel are you that desperate for something to bitch about? It is not at least incorrect to refer to Ida as a hurricane though she may not have been by the time she reached VA httpen.wikipedia.orgwikiHurricaneIda28200929

Mel What is wrong with you? They said the rain from it was pouring down on them. Next you’ll be saying that all the water was fake! C’mon on Mel pull your head out of your pants.

Let’s see some pics of Front St.!

  • Mel says:

Two things 1. Ida isn’t hitting VIrginia and 2. IT’S NOT A HURRICANE! C’mon at least get your weather right.

I think it’s absolutely fabulous people are still thinking of the animals. I always worry about them in storms and any other time for that matter. I wish there was some way I could help though.
