Goose Abuse Makes MLB Champ Gag

San Francisco Giants outfielder Cody Ross just knocked one out of the ballpark. When the postseason hero learned that foie gras is made by shoving tubes down the throats of ducks and geese, often causing serious injuries, and force-feeding the birds until their livers become painfully engorged, Ross immediately decided to change ducks’ luck and dump foie gras.

“Once I found out what it was, it kind of made it taste a little different,” he said.

PETA is sending Ross a thank-you card for being a fine friend to the feathered. To learn more about why he stopped eating foie gras, watch the Kate Winslet-narrated video here.

Thats awesome Cody!!! Good for you. I always wondered what kind of person would eat that anyways? To eat the liver of an animal who was tortured is beyond comprehension. People really are cruel. Its sad.

Michael Vick, eat your heart out. Here’s a real SPORTSMAN HERO!

I wish this report was heard on TV, and more would understand and think twice about the treatment of all creatures.

  • Susan Pew says:

Would you eat a sick liver? That is how it is made while the ducks/geese suffer. Do we really need this sick liver to eat? Leave them the hell alone!!

  • shannon says:

Ross is boss. This just reinforces it.

Good for Cody!! I wonder if he eats veal. Let’s teach him how they mistreat those poor baby calves and maybe he’ll take that off the menu as well. Knowledge IS Power!!

what is done to make foie Gras is disgusting and inhumane. Nothing warrants that kind of treatment of any animal.
