‘The Eight Secrets of How PETA Works!’

Written by PETA | May 10, 2010

I’ve always said that numero ocho is a lucky number—think natural wonders, that timeless tune by The Beatles, and Schoolhouse Rock.

And with the premiere of our new tell-all, eight just beat out seven as my number one numeral:

If you’ve ever wondered, “What’s PETA thinking?” then you’ll want to watch this. Narrated by our own Ingrid E. Newkirk, the video takes an in-depth look at how and why PETA employees and supporters stay so motivated to defend all animals, including the maligned and misunderstood.

So if your friends or family members have ever asked you, “Why does PETA rely so heavily on the Lettuce Ladies to turn people on to a vegan diet” or “How do you remain so relentless in your efforts to make a difference,” now’s the time to answer them. Use this video to spread PETA’s secrets to everyone you know via Facebook and Twitter.

This video is sad. I truly feel sad for the animals in it. But you people have to understand that not everyone who eats meat is a bad person. Take the native americans for example. They followed the buffalo instead of locking them in a paddock. They gave them a fair chance at survival. I respect them alot despite having eating meat. Using this as an example you have to understand that we are animals too. We are what is known as an omnivore an animals whoms diet consists mainly on vegatation and yes meat. By not eating meat we are trying to say that we are above them we are good pure creatures better than all those meat eating animals. You might not have relised that a dog is a carnivore an animal whose diet consists almost entirely out of meat. I’m not telling you that you have to like the fact that some people do eat meat but you otta look at it from our point of view before bashing us.

  • Chrissy says:

One day I truly hope people will be able to look back and realize killing animals is just as bad as slavery if not worse. GO PETA!

PETA ROCKS! You all do a tremendously awesome job and catching animal cruelty by doing your under cover investigations and by helping stop the killings and cruelty of helpless animals! My money and my time go to PETA!

  • guillaume Orhant says:

I admire the heart of Peta. and their results. But their results could realy improve by hiring proper campaigners lobbyists and most importantly marketeers. think fast moving consumer goods people consnsumer package good people they know how to run marketing branding message campaigns to get the best results. While this is endearing and gets results to an extent it feels amateurish and ego centered. Get the best pros in for the sake of animals! Having said that. well done for your hard work! And thank you !

So much thanks for your efforts I appreciate them!

  • Sudeep says:

Wonderful video! There’s so much heart in it! Go PETA!

  • AJ Hill says:

Toby In the mammalian CNS pain is ‘processed’ primarily by subcortical structures that are essentially the same from one species to another. There is absolutely no evidence either behavioral or physiological for the kind of difference in pain perception that you suggest. Don’t give the moral relativists any advantage especially one that they don’t deserve. Animals mice included! hurt every bit as much as you and I do and the sin of cruelty is the same in either case!

  • kathleen wissenz says:

Wonderful video! I will definately share it. Great work Peta!!

  • Aisha says:

To the people of PETA this video has encouraged me to get out there and do more to support the work of yourselves and other groups fighting for the rights of animals around the world. It has helped renew my passion about animal rights and I want to be a part of the solution. I will not sit around and wait for the right time to fight because the time is NOW! Recently I was part of an annual donation innitiative for the humane society in my city and Im sure you can guess what they served at the BBQ..hotdogs! So I demanded that they offer vegetarian food for people who care about animals other than companion pets and I will not stop bugging them until they do! And I promise it will not stop there that is just the beginning and yor organization will be in my heart every step of the way. Thankyou!

  • jeannot nelson says:

  • Krista says:

Great video but I wished they would’ve warned me that most of the footage was graphic. I already know how bad these things are and I am very sensitive to seeing horrible images like this. I guess it just reaffirms why I am vegan. Thanks to PETA for all the awesome work they do for animala.

  • John Carmody says:

  • Toby Saunders says:

Great! I would contend that mice feel as much pain as very young humans surely not as much as adult people… mice don’t have as much processing ‘hardware’ of pain as we do but obviously they feel pain. I should add Pam Anderson’s political power is not soley from her sex appeal she is an actress with a following for that she is a celebrity and thus has some amount of poltical power regardless of how her fame was earned. In closing sex sells in the US best in Republican states over the internet at least ‘red states’ have the most online porn subscriptions.
