Broccoli Might Help Put a Bun in Your Oven

Written by PETA | February 10, 2009

For years, scientists have been pushing fertility drugs to help increase the chances of conceiving, but can boosting one’s “baby chances” be as simple as eating more greens? Well, blow me down, it might be! Results from a major Harvard University study suggest that going vegetarian may increase fertility.

To help spread this baby-mama buzz, we’ve created our own labor of love: a billboard touting vegetables as an essential dietary component to rev up the body’s procreation potential. Those strategically placed veggies speak for themselves.

Veggies: the food of love

We hope to run the billboard in New Hampshire, which has one of the lowest birth rates in the nation.

My husband and I have been together for 4 years and we were told we couldn’t have kids because of his low testosterone and my hormone problems. This last year I switched to a veggie diet thanks to PETA and my husband started eating vegetarian at home with me. 4 months later we conceived. Is it coincidence? I don’t think so… We’re expecting a girl in April. If anyone is trying to conceive give a veggie diet a try. It can’t hurt and it saves animals in the process.

  • Gen says:

Haha thats great Some people may call us weird but I just think its funny! But it isn’t really suitable for little kids when they’re going down the highway in the backseat saying “Mommy what’s that supposed to be?” Haha you should put something on top like “Kids under 13 Stop Reading! ” lmao Great idea though attention grabbing and creative!

    LOL I love that billboard.

So if broccoli was to help me put a bun in the oven wouldn’t that mean the offspring would be half broccoli half human hybrids? That would make for an interesting episode of A Baby Story.
