Almond Milk: A Favorite of Kids and Cookies

The many benefits of nondairy milks, such as lower fat and calorie content and zero cholesterol, make them a no-brainer for health-conscious consumers, but how do they stack up taste-wise? The Wall Street Journal performed a taste test on almond, soy, rice, coconut, and cow’s milk, and the results are in: Almond milk wins!

Almond milk passed the real litmus test of milks, the cookie-dunk challenge, with a flavor that actually “improved the cookie.” It was also a hit with a young Wall Street Journal reader who, judging by the expressions on his face, found almond and soy milk most pleasing to his persnickety palate.

If kids and cookies agree, then almond milk is definitely something those of us who still like sugary cereal and Saturday morning cartoons can get behind.

way delicious, super way nutritious and very good for you. and this is good for the animals, the planet, the environment. this is definitely a win-win kind of deal, you just can’t lose. it is no longer the pricey “i just can’t afford it” item in the specialty racks, it’s everywere. @Caroline wow. it seems that your heart is *almost* in the right place. nobody even comes close to what PETA does, please rethinker your contribution if the money means that much to you.

I have been a generous supporter of animal rights for years.  I had never given to PETA and recently I saw a story on pitbulls that got my attention, especially after having one as a child and knowing how incredibly loving and sweet my dog was.  Only problem is that I only gave you $25 dollars, yet I receive so much stuff from you. Loads of magazines, etc., etc.  It makes me wonder if my money actually went to the pitbulls or all the incredible amount of literature I have received. It has completely turned me off

Hemp seed milk is also excellent; hemp is one of the best plants on Earth (if not the best) in terms of versatility (medicine, leisure, food, textiles, plastics, fuels, wood & more)… not to suggest that almond isn’t totally awesome! I agree with the WSJ taste test about almond milk, sure… taste isn’t the most important thing ever, but sure, tasty, very tasty & healthy & far more ethical than cow milk (considering modern production, breeding, carbon emissions)…
