Alleged Porn Killer Practiced on Kittens?

Written by Alisa Mullins | June 1, 2012

Canada’s most wanted man, Luka Rocco Magnotta, has been captured after allegedly posting a gruesome snuff video of the murder and dismemberment of an acquaintance, Lin Jun, online and mailing some of the victim’s body parts to government offices. It turns out that this probably isn’t the self-described porn star’s first videotaped killing

Serial Kitten Killer

Animal protectionists have been tracking Magnotta for more than two years, ever since a video titled “1 boy 2 kittens” was posted online in 2010. The video showed a man who is believed to be Magnotta placing two kittens inside a bag and suffocating them by vacuuming out the air. One year later, a second video surfaced in which the same man allowed a kitten to be attacked and eaten by a python. Days later, a third video appeared in which a cat was duct-taped to a broomstick and drowned in a bathtub filled with water.

“He might end up killing human beings one day,” read an eerily prophetic post on the animal protection group Animal Beta Project’s (ABP) Facebook page in 2011. “He might just not stop with animals.”

Activists Step In

After the second video surfaced, PETA U.K. offered a reward for information leading to the perpetrator’s arrest, and PETA U.S., together with ABP, documented Magnotta’s online profiles, blogs, websites, known associates, relatives, and whereabouts. PETA and ABP passed the information along to the Ontario SPCA and the Toronto Police Service, which unsuccessfully sought warrants for Magnotta’s arrest.

When Magnotta made the news earlier this week, PETA got in touch with the Montréal police and provided it with the information on the kitten-killing videos, in hopes of reviving the cruelty-to-animals charges and bolstering the police’s case against Magnotta. A member of the Montréal police department’s cyber team will be analyzing the information.

If Magnotta is indeed responsible for these heinous crimes, could he have been prevented from graduating to murder if he’d been caught and punished after killing kittens? We may never know, but this tragedy is a prime example of why it is vital always to take acts of violence against animals seriously and to prosecute the offenders vigorously. If you ever witness cruelty, even by children, please report it to the authorities immediately. You will be protecting the community as a whole, as well as animals.

If there was ever a candidate for receiving water-boarding and torture this bastard is well deserving of it. I hope he suffers for the rest of his life for what he did. And I am normally not the type to speak out. I even sent an email to cnn.com asking them to moderate comments better or I would file a claim for their allowing of gore links to remain posted. I foster kittens/cats for this very reason – to protect them from jerks like this/help them realize not all humans are bad like the ones they have encountered. I don’t care who you are, no one has the right to get away with these heinous crimes, yet while the system comes around slowly they slip through cracks all the time. Maybe someone will listen now that a human was killed. Amazing how it takes a human to be killed in our societies before people change things that should have been in place all along!

@ Dr. Drew Sucks, I agree!! First, I realized how extraordinarily sexist Dr. Drew is. Now – sexism, racism, speciesism come from the same root cause, so it doesn’t surprise me he is speciesist too. On top of that, I had no idea he said there is no link between animal cruelty and human cruelty. Really, this guy isn’t bright. Getting a degree only means a person memorized material and could understand the courses. It doesn’t necessarily indicate an enlightened or aware person.

  • Dr. Drew Sucks says:

But apparently that idiot Dr. Drew doesn’t think that there is a correlation based on his “Forget the kittens” comment he has recently made on his pathethic show regarding this case. If that moron had an ounce of knowledge about psychology, he would know the correlation between killing animals and killing people. Who gave that dummy a degree? Everyone should boycott that stupid idiot.

I hope this man burns in hell. Thank you, PETA.

I remember this story from late last year where we all signed petitions and shared this about what he was doing. He was posting himself with kittens doing what was told in the headlines with photos and he was posing he was dressed partly like a woman, but he is gay, also mad as a hatter, they should throw away the key, after he gets to suffer as he did those kittens. It was sick and devastating as we saw them little kittens what he was doing to them..what a arse hole he deserves to die..

There’s no direct factor that indicates a “Serial Killer” save excess animal cruelty. Some kids are molested and burned with hot irons but grow up to be good citizens. Some are raised in the lap of luxury with every opportunity and become monsters. But the one thread is that they tend to start killing animals for fun/torturing them. Not everyone who does that is a serial killer/will be one but few serial killers haven’t. Essentially they are working up courage to go to a human. Back in the 90s there was this wanna be serial killer called “School Kill” who beheaded a boy. Well, yes he DID kill animals first. There was a pile of reports of mutilated animals that people dutifully filed with police that painted a “Random” circle around his house…

Thank you PETA for making this guy known to people so that he was caught relatively quickly. I’m not normally an animal rights’ activist by any means, but it’s obvious that you guys were paying attention to this creep’s behavior and could see how this was going to escalate. I’m glad that you guys are fighting to keep humans from being cruel to other animals because that lack of compassion for another living being will eventually spill over into more and more serious behaviors. What he was doing to kittens was incredibly sick and twisted and as a society we cannot condone this behavior.

I agree with you Carla , not is enough the jail need takes more actions with the people that is bad and cruelty everyday with the animals.

  • Victoria says:

Animal cruelty is the shame of mankind. It’s like a knife through my heart every time I read these stories. I die just a little bit more. :(

o que a gente pode fazer para ajuda-los?

  • Una says:

It is time for law enforcement to take the abuse of ahnimal seriously. They are seriously sick crimes and the perpatrators act without fear of serious punishment. That’s so not right. Punishment is a deterrant. Until animal protection laws equal those of human laws, both animals and people will not be safe from these sick monsters.

Human beings are placed on earth as the so called: “civilized species” We are responsible for other creatures great and small. We must find and remove from civilized society, those who threaten or harm the most innocent and vulnerable creatures amongst us. Mean torturers must be euthanized or locked up, to protect the greater good.

  • Ann says:

This is sickening. Abusing animals ought to result in life in prison, if not worse. This man should be given capital punishment, or, at the least, put in a prison where the others would take care of the sentence.

  • Elle says:

I hope they catch this murderer and give them the ULTIMATE penalty! Psychos like him represent everything that’s wrong with society these days, they should had locked him in a cage long ago!!!! They have no respect for life, so the WORLD should not value their lives in any way!

  • Vineca says:

How much more evidence do we need to transform the ethos of our world – murder begets murder. The truth is so painful.

  • Melanie says:

As a citizen of Toronto where this monster is from, I am truly ashamed. I absolutely adore cats so when I saw this story on the news I sobbed. How can anyone hurt a poor, helpless kitten? The laws here in Canada are a pathetic joke. I applaud the USA for their harsh sentences on criminals and corporal punishment. I hope this monster is caught.

  • carla says:

Jail is not harsh enough for the abuse of these poor animals. Humans who abuse animals do NOT belong on this earth and I am so sick and tired of hearing about all of these stories. Animal abuse needs to be taken more seriously!!!!!!!!

  • Richard says:

All life is valuable and its true the world has a long way to go to becoming a more compassionate place but thanks to PETA it will get there some day.
