Air Canada: That’s a Wrap

Written by PETA | September 9, 2009

When PETA caught wind of Air Canada’s financial woes, we flew into action with a tempting offer that could help keep the company flying sky high and save thousands of seals from being slaughtered on Canada’s ice floes each year. PETA V.P. Dan Mathews will meet with an Air Canada representative on September 11 to discuss giving the Air Canada planes that fly between Canada and the U.S. a makeover—by wrapping them in our anti–seal slaughter ad. Check it:

Plane wrap

In April, we asked US Airways to deck out a few of the planes that it flies in and out of Vancouver, home turf of the 2010 Olympics. Though that proposal was rejected, we haven’t given up. Got any high-flying ideas about where we could place this ad next? Share your brilliance below.

Im not saying ALL canadians ignore it dont twist my words but the ones that DO this and agree with it wont be able to ignore it nor the governments if its in every shop. When i or anyone eles speaks about another country it doesnt mean EVERYONE in said country. im from england and i would put boycott the great british circus posters up in every shop but it doesnt mean im saying ALL britons condone it. Not every comment or topic warrants an argument its an animal lovers site not an i hate your country site. chill out a bit guys.

Emma you’re making it sound as if Canadians condone this massacre most of them don’t yes? Good work on the anti seal slaughter ad PETA. I have since secured part time work in a pet shop so am surrounded by adorable puppy dogs and kittens all day. My dream job.

That is a good Idea. I highly doubt that air Canada would accept the proposal simply because Air Canada is Canada is Canada’s official airline and here in Canada the social democracy that we are The government If Air Canada even does agree It is seeking government assistance can quash the agreement if they determine that it is not the Country’s best interest. which If it does actually happen will most likely be the case. Emma Canadians are NOT ignorant of the seal hunt we know it exists and we are opposed to it however the whole issue is no longer reported because of the recession and the fall election speculation.
