He's been a favorite of mine from the start and now it’s official: I love Jorge Garcia!
Jorge, who played “Hurley,” the owner of a Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack on Lost, has gone vegetarian! “It's about the animals,” says Jorge, who gave meat the boot after learning how chickens, cows, pigs, and other animals are crammed en masse into filthy factory farms and are often scalded alive in slaughterhouses. Jorge also says that he is enjoying the great health benefits of being a vegetarian. Feels good, doesn't it?
No doubt, Jorge’s many other fans will be happy to hear that he is being so kind to himself and to animals. Congratulations, Jorge, on your healthy and humane new diet!

Recently, I ran across some really sad cases of guardians who lost their feline companions and did not know what steps to take to recover them. Here are some basic guidelines that were originally published in my book 250 Things You Can Do to Make Your Cat Adore You. These steps should also work for most other types of animal companions.
The following are the basic rules:
you have a general question for PETA and would like a response, please e-mail Info@peta.org. If you need to report cruelty to
an animal, please click
here. If you are reporting an animal in imminent danger and know where to find the
animal and if the abuse is taking place right now, please call your local
police department. If the police are unresponsive, please call PETA
immediately at 757-622-7382 and press 2.

Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights? Read more.
