Salt Lake City turned into Sexy Leaf City when PETA's "Lettuce Ladies" rolled into town. The leafy lovelies were there to persuade folks to go lean and green in 2012 by going vegan.
The SLC "occupiers" even stopped occupying long enough to chat with the green gals (and enjoy some free soy sausage).

Not everyone can afford to buy an electric vehicle (EV), but there is one thing that we all can do to help the environment, even in a down economy: go vegan. That's the message that PETA's lovely—and apparently frostbite-proof—Lettuce Ladies took to the streets of Seattle, where the delicious vegan jerky they handed out in front of an EV charging station went like hotcakes in the 33-degree weather.
Raising animals for food wastes land, water, and other resources, and it takes more than 11 times as much fossil fuel to make one calorie from animal protein as it does to make one calorie from plant protein. A recent United Nations report concluded that a global shift toward a vegan diet is necessary to combat the worst effects of climate change.
Even if you wouldn't wear a bikini in freezing weather to spread the word about the benefits of a vegan diet, you can pick up copies of our vegetarian/vegan starter kit to hand out to friends and family or passersby.

As the celebrities on the fight card at Avalon Hollywood were practicing their right hooks and uppercuts, PETA's Lettuce Ladies were there to show them and their fans how to be a knockout by cutting out meat.
Of course, dumping meat and dairy products gives you not only a trim, sexy physique (ahem, Kevin Federline) but also more energy (Octomom), and you can enjoy so many fresh fruits and veggies that you'll think you were eating from the White House kitchen garden (Tareq Salahi).

As Lady Gaga heads to India to perform at the Formula One closing party, PETA India has an idea for her next statement outfit: a dress made of lettuce leaves.
Considering meat's monstrous impact on our health and the environment as well as the plight of animals who are dismembered for food while still conscious, PETA India asked Mother Monster to show her fans that even just reducing the amount of meat they eat (or wear) can help.
Will Lady Gaga step into the leaf dress and discover that she was born the herbivore way? We'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, you can use these free recipes to cook up some meatless dishes that you'll go gaga for.
Motorcycle engines roaring, 2,000 bikers gathered to show off their rides, listen to country music … and chow down on some vegan "beef" jerky at the annual Love Ride in California on Sunday. At this weekend's HempCon medical marijuana convention in L.A., PETA's Lettuce Ladies toke took the opportunity to urge attendees to break their addiction—to meat.
The gals in green were such a huge hit that they quickly gave away their entire stock of vegan munchies—chocolate-chip cookies and faux-beef jerky—and vegetarian/vegan starter kits.
Compared to meat-eaters, vegetarians have a 40 percent lower risk of cancer, the disease that medical marijuana is often prescribed for. So eating plants now may help prevent the need to smoke them down the road.

PETA is helping mass-transit passengers go even greener. When Norfolk, Virginia's new light-rail train made its maiden voyage past our headquarters, the Lettuce Ladies were on hand—and on the balcony—to make the inaugural run memorable.
With their cabbage couture and "Climeat Change" sign, the ladies showed passengers (and enthusiastic construction workers) that dumping meat, the number one cause of climate change, does even more good for the planet than taking public transportation. Riders were waving, snapping pictures, and giving thumbs-up signs—and, we hope, they were keener to be greener at their next meal as well.

Patriots would have been proud to see so many members of Congress and their staff lining up for healthy veggie dogs and faux-chili dogs. While the crowd was waiting, they chatted with PETA staff, learning about how pigs suffer on factory farms and that flesh-based hot dogs contain noses, toes, anuses, and other "undesirable" body parts, while veggie dogs are made of healthy (and tasty) plant protein.
Everyone agreed that the food was delicious, and some told us that they were ready to go vegetarian or vegan.
