Alert Cute Overload—we have a code-red cuteness emergency!
This may very well be the cutest new product that the geniuses in PETA's Merchandise Department have come up with this millennium (with the exception of the legendary Notta Nugget, of course). In fact, it's possible that it's actually too much adorableness for one piece of iMachinery to handle.
Nah, not a chance. But you have a chance to have one of these laptop covers for your very own. Just post a comment below explaining why your "other laptop" is so special and you could be one of two lucky people who will be able to turn their laptops into the most huggable hardware on the block. (Winners can choose between a "dog" and "cat" laptop cover.)

How would you celebrate your 58th birthday? If you're the indefatigable Chrissie Hynde, you would start a new band (JP, Chrissie & the Fairground Boys), put out a new album (Fidelity!), and develop a new eco-friendly clothing line (Fairground Luck).
Coming from Chrissie, the clothing line will of course feature T-shirts, skinny jeans, pleather jackets, handbags, and boots with a rocker-chick vibe and will be 100 percent vegan.
"Like most women, I love fashion and clothes," Hynde told Women's Wear Daily. "Everybody will be able to find everything they love in a nonleather version. Fashion should be fun."
No word on when Fairground Luck clothing will be appearing in a shopping mall near you, but Fidelity! hits online stores today, and we have a couple of copies available for some lucky PETA Files readers. Post a comment below telling us why you think Chrissie is the coolest, rockingest, sassiest animal defender ever to pick up a guitar, and the two comments that make us want to run out and protest with Chrissie will win the CDs.
Everyone knows that cats love boxes— but doesn't Kitty deserve something a little more special than the tattered cardboard box that your Zappos.com purchase was shipped in? Why, yes—yes she does! Toss your Zappos box in the recycle bin and enter to win one of these stylish and sturdy kitty cabins from Loyal Luxe. You'll be the cat's meow.
PETA's 30th Anniversary Gala is right around the corner, and you can be the first to proudly walk around your office carrying one of our classy commemorative coffee mugs—sure to be an instant collector's item!
How has PETA changed your heart and mind about how animals are treated? Was it a copy of our free vegetarian/vegan starter kit that started you on the road to cruelty-free living? Did you adopt instead of shop? Tell us how PETA has opened your eyes to how our choices affect animals, and the three people who post the most inspirational comments will be drinking their coffee in style.

Cancel your afternoon appointments and plan on getting dinner delivered because we're going shopping at Cosmo's Vegan Shoppe, which has offered up this week's "Win It" Wednesday prize—a $25 gift certificate.
After more than two decades of vegan living, I know that it's a cinch to find an animal-friendly version of any edible or wearable item that I can imagine. But browsing through Cosmo's shop, I'm blown away to discover items that I didn't know existed—vegan meatloaf? Get in my belly!
So this week's challenge is to name and link to the unique item or items that you discover at Cosmo's and tell us how you plan to use them. The person who offers up the most amazing discovery and description will win the gift certificate.

You know that tofu has truly arrived when homemaking bible Better Homes and Gardens features herbed tofu cakes as one of its "prize tested recipes" and Jessica Simpson extols the virtues of tofu on Twitter. So it was only a matter of time before tofu started getting its own T-shirts.
First came PETA's runaway bestsellers "Powered by Tofu" and "Tofu Never Screams." Now, the folks at 11:11 have come up with this retro-cool little number:
To take home your very own "Say 'Tofu'" tee, just post a comment below sharing your most creative use or recipe for tofu. Remember: You can sauté it, marinate it, grill it, fry it, crumble it, scramble it, stew it, skewer it, slice it, dice it, bake it, shake it, shred it, bread it, freeze it, squeeze it, whip it, flip it, dip it, and sip it—just about the only thing that you can't do with tofu is skip it!
Fun in the sun means beach towels and bikinis, but forget your sunscreen and you'll be singing the sunburn blues. But there's no chance of that for the clever person who wins a basket of cruelty-free summer skincare lotions from Kiss My Face:
Want to win it? Just let us know what you are doing to help animals this summer. For my part, every time I visit the beach, I pick up each piece of litter I see so that animals don't end up ensnared like this.
What's a fast way to make an Average Jane wince? Just say "Diet." Many people mistakenly believe that dieting is all about deprivation. Not so! Watch as Skinny Bitch author Rory Freedman weighs in:
As Rory points out, the easiest, most delicious way to shed pounds and improve overall health is to go vegan. You'll discover seemingly endless menu possibilities with grains, legumes, fruits, and veggies as well as an abundance of "fooled-ya!" flavors and textures to satisfy any craving.
If you haven't already gone vegan, no more excuses: It's time to lose weight and save animals by pledging to be "Fit 4 Summer, Healthy for Life"—and enter to win a "Get Fit With Skinny Bitch" prize pack. Your waistline, your heart, and countless animals thank you for caring.
Sure, I realize that no matter how "low-fat" they are, cupcakes are not exactly health food—but they are still my favorite food group. Chocolate stout cupcakes, s'mores cupcakes, jelly donut cupcakes—they're all good. I love to bake cupcakes, decorate cupcakes, read about cupcakes, eat cupcakes (duh)—heck, I would even wear cupcakes if I could.
So, of course, I want must have one of these adorable Vegan Cupcake Baker mugs from CakeSpy. It's the perfect thing for sipping a soy latte while perusing my favorite cookbook.
We've got three of these mugs to give away—and if you ♥ cupcakes as much as I do, I know that you want one. For a chance to win, simply describe the most delectable vegan cupcake flavor you can imagine—whether it's one you've actually eaten or something you just dreamed up. The three most decadent flavors win. Sweet!

Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights? Read more.
