• 'Win It' Wednesday: PETA Water Bottle

    Written by PETA

I'm heading out to do my GTL, and I realize that my pretty-in-pink PETA capris are in my laundry basket. I still want my treadmill neighbors to ask me about PETA so that I can tell them all the ways that we work to combat animal abuse, so I reach for my trusty Stainless Steel PETA Logo Water Bottle

It holds 24 ounces of water, so I can go straight from the treadmill to Zumba, but the best part is that it's a conversation starter. Don't have one? That's an easy fix. Just tell us where you would take your message on a bottle, and the two lucky PETA Files readers with the most creative activism ideas will each snag one.

The contest will end June 29, 2011, with the winner chosen on July 1. Be sure to read our privacy policy and terms and conditions because you're agreeing to both by commenting.

    Good luck!

  • 'Win It' Wednesday: PETA's 2011 Calendar

    Written by PETA

2011 is fast approaching, and we all know what that means: a list of New Year's resolutions and a new calendar. While pages of shirtless beefcakes have a certain appeal to some, we can all agree that PETA's annual calendar—full of beautiful portraits of rescued animals and important animal-related anniversaries and victories—is inspiring, beautiful, and suitable for both the kitchen and the office. It's also the prize for the three winners of this week's "Win It" Wednesday contest.

Want one? Well, then, wow us with your New Year's resolution to help animals. Maybe you're going scrape cheese off your plate for good by going vegan. Maybe you're going to start blogging about animal rights issues in your neighborhood. Perhaps you plan to follow the lead of lovely and determined Claudine Erlandson and start protesting outside your local KFC every week. The possibilities are endless, so we look forward to learning not just the "how's" of your life-changing resolution but the "why's" too.

The three people who most make us want to pop our champagne corks early will each win a calendar. The contest ends December 1, and the winners will be chosen on December 3. Be sure to read our privacy policy and terms and conditions, as you're agreeing to both by commenting. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law. Good luck!

  • 'Win It' Wednesday: PETA's 2010 Holiday Cards

    Written by PETA

Think it's too early to start spreading holiday cheer? Well, I think you might soon change your mind, because we're about to unveil quite possibly the cutest photos you've ever seen. The photos all appear on PETA's holiday cards, and three winners will each get a pack of cards as this week's "Win It" Wednesday prize. Brace yourself for cute overload:

I can't wait to mail one of these cards to every person on my list, but I'll have to purchase mine. Lucky you—all you have to do to score these cards is describe how you'll be spreading some holiday cheer for animals. It's never too early for that, is it? Each and every act of kindness matters, so please share some insight about your motivation.

Here's what I'll be doing (never mind that I can't win the cards): In honor of Sheba—a neighbor's elderly dog whom I helped out of cold, lonely isolation in a muddy backyard pen—I'll be urging my local television stations to run PETA's "Cold Dog" ad starring Michael Strahan.

The three entrants whose inspiring ideas make us cheer the loudest will each win a pack of the holiday cards. The contest ends November 23, and the winners will be chosen on November 24. Be sure to read our privacy policy and terms and conditions, as you're agreeing to both by commenting. Good luck!

  • 'Win It' Wednesday: Swine Flu Mask

    Written by PETA

Unless you've had your head in the sand for quite some time, you know that "swine flu blues" are sweeping the nation. Just in time for sniffle season, PETA's swine flu prevention masks have arrived.

    Mask

We are giving you, dear PETA Files reader, a chance to win the perfect accessory for your next pro-vegan demonstration or leafleting junket (or cross-country flight). All you need to do is simply create your own "swine flu haiku," a short, three-line poem, about this pandemic that has worried people all over the world. Here's mine:

    Swine flu fears? Not here
    Because I am vegan and
    Wash my hands a lot

(Remember, the first line in haiku must have five syllables, the second must have seven, and the third one must have five.)

What's that? You can do better? Well, then, prove it. Submit your clever haiku in the comments section below by December 9, 2009. We'll pick 5 winners on December 11, 2009. Be sure to read our privacy policy and terms and conditions, as you're agreeing to both by commenting. Good luck!
