Update: In response to popular demand, autographed 8-inch-by-10-inch prints of Brooke Hogan's photo are available for $50 (unsigned prints are available for $20), with 80 percent of the proceeds going to PETA. Order by e-mailing cages@red1studios.com.
A new exhibit by celebrated Miami photographer Jordan Michael Zuniga titled "Women in Cages" debuted Thursday night to rave reviews. If this photo from the exhibit, featuring wrestling legend Hulk Hogan's daughter, Brooke, is anything to go by, we can see why the show made such a strong impression:
I hope it shocks [people] to see a human in the place of an 'animal.' … [I]t really shows how absurd that treatment is. ... We're all God's creatures. Just because we don't speak the same language doesn't mean [animals] don't have feelings too. —Brooke Hogan
A dedicated PETA supporter, Zuniga conceived of the show as a way to explore the politics surrounding the treatment of animals. And he's putting his money where his mouth is, donating proceeds from sales of the photographs to PETA. Other photographs in the exhibit feature model Ines Rivero, The Apprentice veteran Katrina Campins, Michelle Pooch, and Tara Solomon, among others.
If you live in the Miami area, check out the exhibit. The photos will be on display at Cafeina in Wynwood through September 10.

Want to take a wild guess which of the world's many "fashion weeks" is now the first to ban fur?
No, it's not Milan, London, or even Miami. That's way too obvious. Think farther north. Arctic Ocean north. That's right—Norway, home to polar bears, glaciers, and ice hotels, has seen fur banned from the catwalks at its upcoming Oslo Fashion Week (OFW), which will be held in February.
The move was spearheaded by fur-free designer Fam Irvoll and the Norwegian animal rights group NOAH, which organized a massive candlelight vigil against fur back in November and gathered signatures from more than 200 designers, models, photographers, and other members of the Norwegian fashion industry who refuse to work with fur.
"It has been a very natural choice for us because we do not want the OFW to appear as an arena in which to promote products based on the treatment of animals [as] prohibited by animal welfare concerns in several countries," said Paul Vasbotten, the general manager of OFW.
Paris, Milan, London, and New York, what are you waiting for?
And we mean that literally. The late heir Gail Posner apparently took to heart PETA's advice that we must be sure to provide for our animal companions after we are gone: She left a $3 million trust fund and her $8.3 million Miami Beach mansion to her three dogs. Another $26 million goes to a group of staffers, and a housekeeper/personal assistant will be allowed to live in the mansion, rent free, to take care of the animals for the rest of their very comfortable lives. Let's hope that the housekeeper is a kind person.
In comparison, Posner's son's take of $1 million seems pretty measly—at least according to him. Think of what neglected animals and struggling animal shelters could do with that money!
They say that all dogs will have their day, but in the case of Conchita, Posner's beloved Chihuahua, they sometimes get a payday too (although dogs don't need anything more than food, water, shelter, a comfy bed, walks, veterinary care, and love). What do you think about Gail's last wishes? Have you included your companion animals in your will?
Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams already has enough accolades to span two lifetimes—Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, and Pro Bowl MVP, to name a few—and after he reigned over our Faux–Chicken Wing Taste Test today, we'd like to dub him an MVP: Most Valuable Palate.
The vegetarian NFL star hosted our event at his restaurant, Proof, in Miami. The winning wings may have been gardein buffalo wings, but considering all the chickens who got to keep their own wings, all the arteries that didn't get clogged, and all the taste buds that were more-than-tickled, it sounds to me like the party left everyone happy!

Ricky Williams is hulking proof that vegan athletes last longer and play harder, and we're sure that his new restaurant, PROOF, will have the same stamina that he has.
PROOF opened today in the Z Ocean Hotel on Miami Beach's Ocean Drive, and the most delectable part of its menu is the Ricky's Picks section. Handpicked by the NFL star so that he "can order entrées," the section's hearty and humane options range from a black-bean burger to rice noodles and tofu.
Kudos to Ricky for creating a menu that makes my mouth water just by reading it. You'll definitely find me seated at PROOF on my next trip to Miami.
We were recently informed by a whistleblower that Ringling trainer Joe Frisco Jr. was attacked by one of the elephants used by the circus, sustaining injuries severe enough to send him to the hospital. The source claimed that Frisco "has been pounding" on the elephant, which, given the Frisco family’s penchant for violently abusing animals, sounds about right to me. Joe’s brother Tim Frisco was caught on tape viciously beating elephants with steel-tipped bullhooks for the Carson & Barnes Circus, and you can watch video footage showing some of Tim Frisco’s “work” for the circus below. We’ve asked the USDA to look into this incident, so I’ll let you know how that investigation turns out.
