Ke$ha loves her animals—both her fans and her furry ones. So when she adopted a new cat, she let her fans name him. Ke$ha tweeted, “new kitty was in a tiny cage for 8 months …. I just couldn’t leave him!! now he has his own bedroom… just need a name ….” And after Ke$ha Instagrammed the handsome fellow’s picture, the suggestions started pouring in, including the one that Ke$ha chose: Mr. Fluffy Pants. The newly christened feline even has his own Instagram account now: @i_is_mrfluffypants.

Mr. Fluffy Pants would surely appreciate all the animal-friendly tweets that we spotted this week:

In other celebrity news:

  • Can you guess which romantically involved on-screen characters are played by a romantic off-screen couple who bonded over a shared love of animals? Seamus and Juliana Dever play husband-and-wife team Kevin Ryan and Jenny Duffy-O’Malley on Castle, and at home, they play with their two rescued dogs and new vegetarian recipes. In an interview with HealthyPet magazine, Seamus explained, “We feel like we have a responsibility to do our part so that nothing gets harmed on this planet. My philosophy is that I don’t want anything to suffer or die for me to live.”
  • Watch out, Atkins diet: You’ve got a new enemy in The 700 Club host Pat Robertson. On a recent episode, the Christian leader bashed the high-protein, low-carb diet, saying that it is so unhealthy and dangerous that it actually “violates the principles that God set down.”
  • Timothy Bradley is making it clear that he thinks going vegan “would benefit any athlete in any sport.” And he should know: He’s a champion boxer. “I told a reporter recently that I feel superior over any athlete who gets into the ring with me. The energy is always there. I feel so alive. My senses and reflexes are so acute. It’s an incredible feeling.” It obviously does a lot of good for Timothy’s physique, too:
  • And tonight, we’ll all be watching as our buddy Alec Baldwin returns to 30 Rock. No, not the show, but to his own late-night talk show, Up Late With Alec Baldwin, which will be filmed at the famed location. There’s plenty of speculation about who Alec’s guests will be and the topics he’ll cover, but the smart money is on this animal advocate giving voice to his cause whenever he gets a chance.
