PETA Gals Shower in Public to Honor World Water Day

Written by Michelle Kretzer

If you're celebrating World Water Day by installing a low-flow shower head, congrats. You'll save about 12 gallons of water every day.

If, on the other hand, you're celebrating World Water Day by ditching meat, way to go! You'll save about 2,400 gallons of water every day.

It takes 2,400 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of meat, which means you'll save more water by not eating one 16-ounce steak than by not showering for six months.

Given my druthers, I think I'd rather enjoy a veggie burger and a shower.
