I've been a vegetarian for a couple years now, but I've yet to find mock meat that actually taste good. I'd tell myself it tastes great, but even with a lot of seasoning and compensation, it still just okay. And I must say, aside your personal revulsion towards meat, feces and meat definitely not on the same level when it comes to nutritional value. Feces is the EXCRETION from an animal devoid of any kind of nutrition. Meat, however you may want to disagree and argue, has still got nutritional values (protein, iron, etc). I'm not arguing that it is an essential part of one's diet (I've been practicing vegetarianism for 2 years now, and my health is amazing), but it is rather conveying a wrong message by publishing an article that compares meat to feces as the same deal. Or am I supposed to take all the PETA articles metaphorically? In that case, my mistake.

So you’re saying all slaughterhouses bathe chickens in “fecal soup,” and all slaughterhouses are disgusting, covered in feces, all their animals eat poop and, of course, are the cruelest places in the world. How stereotypical. That’s like saying all Irish are drunks, all Christians hate gays and all PETA members are insane arsonists who enjoy throwing red paint at fashion models. Doesn’t feel so good, does it? I’M not saying I think that’s how all PETA members are, no. I know some who are reasonable and kind people who respect who I am and what decisions I make. So eating dead carcasses is gross? Ah, so instead of eating something full of protein, iron and other nutrients that can help a body grow (not saying that’s the only way to get those things, tofu and beans work as well) is better than eating something that is supposed to be flushed from a body due to, in a sense, getting rid of the yucky things the body doesn’t want or need. You could get Adenovirus, Campylobacter infection, Coxsackievirus (hand-foot-mouth disease), Enteroviruses, E. coli infection. Giardia infection, Rotavirus, Salmonella, Shigella, Tapeworms and Toxoplasmosis from eating poop. And go ahead and argue, “well, you can get diseases from eating meat too!!!” Though that is true, it’s also true that it comes from SOME companies. Local butcheries prepare their meat fresh and locally. So manure is spread around the large, open fields the animals are in, keeping diseases away from them and allowing grass to grow for them to eat. They also say, “happier cows are tastier cows,” since they grow plump from how open they are in the fields, along with being killed VERY humanely by using a large spike to pierce the base of the skull, a quick, painless kill. The larger companies feed corn to their cows to make them fatter, which causes them to get sick along with being in tight spaces and eating feces. Granted, Japan has done some things that greatly impressed me but… honestly, I think this idea is a bunch of bull crap. Ha, I made a pun.
